We recently connected with Yulia Maluta and have shared our conversation below.
Yulia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My first documentary film “Call to Rise” put me on a new creative path. it was meaningful because during pandemic when everything was shut down I kept engagement with artistic community Inviting them to keep expressing their creative voices delivering the message of unity, celebration of diversity and overcoming challenges with grace by tapping into personal power. Diverse voices, dance and music was shared in that film which created a beautiful tapestry of colors expressed in unifying heartfelt message to humanity. My new project “Drumbeat of Humanity” is about unifying power of drums in ethnic cultures inviting audience to experience evolution of culture, being introduced to history of drums and dance. in various cultures and inviting the audience experience of reverence of our home: Mother Earth or if now we will face our demise… It is meaningful because right now the midst of localised global conflicts and political push to take sides, the message of a film is that our heartbeat what unifies us All and unifying power of our hearts can overcome fear of one another despite differences when we realise that first of all we are human and when we begin to value humanity in one another we can overcome hatred or fear of one another. Heart and Humanity goes hand and hand together. And we came here to embrace that to go beyond egoic instincts that divide and separate us. awaken into Oneness and compassion.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
What is different about my organisation Transform Through Arts is that our intention as performing artists collective is to deliver an experience that can be felt in the hearts of people that opens a new space or paradigm of coexisting here on this planet in peace and harmony, open minded and heart will overcome separation that creates suffering, hatred and global conflicts because of lack of consciousness, awareness and false beliefs.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
What is different of being a creative it teaches One to be in the unknown and go through uncomfortable journey of self discovery and letting creation to unfold moment by moment. That takes being in an intimate connection with life to let life’s creation to unfold in front of you, to be conduit, receiver and manifesto which takes surrender. Oppose to linear path where One knows where they are going and knows the path from A to B creativity is non linear path it is like putting the pieces of the puzzle together and One never knows how creation will look like as it has a life or its only and then artist see formless inspiration coming to form in front of their eyes.
It is an enchanting feeling because it is like being guided from within which takes listening and being connected opposed to linear knowing where One Is going. That is why it is called creativity it is a process of unfolding and connectivity rather than getting to destination from A to B. Creativity is a journey and a process of brining formless into form.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to unite artists together in collaborative message of unity and togetherness through multicultural theater production “Colors of Love“ and documentary films. So together we can demonstrate the enrichment that comes from embracing diverse expression of humanity that makes our world a beautiful place. to exist, To invite people to awaken to their true creative power within them to rise beyond instinctual fears of differences in one another and shift it into appreciation. of their own uniqueness as well as others.
