We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yuki Yamada a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Yuki, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
Leica M10Monochrom
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a street photographer based in New York shooting mainly in black and white. I started doing photography during the pandemic when I started videoing myself playing the bass with a camera. The day I took my camera out on the streets to take photography without even knowing the term “street photography,” it completely clicked and here I am.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
You can keep on learning no matter what stage or age you are at.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Ralph Gibson interviews and books have always impacted my thoughts on photographs. It’s better for you to actually go take a look by yourself rather than me explaining about it. In terms of influence, Devin Allen, Alan Schaller, Bill Brandt, Henri-Cartier Bresson and Ray Metzker has been my impact.
