We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yuan Jie Wen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Yuan Jie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I was first introduced to Archery when my friend Howard took me to a indoor archery range in New York City. I had a first archery class in Queen’s Archery in Queens New York. My instructor was 17 years old and was about to head into the army. Ever since then I fell in love with archery. I love how the sport is very open, accessible and affordable to any race, gender, and age. It is a very family friendly sport and accommodating for all ages. At the time that I started in Archery. The city of Philadelphia had one indoor archery range that closed during the pandemic. I felt the need to introduce the sport to Philadelphia and hope to spread the awareness of the sport of archery .

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Our indoor archery range offers a base archery class for everyone ages 11 and up. It is beginner friendly and we provide the training and instruction. We encourage everyone to simply book the archery class on our website. After the archery class, everyone is encouraged to come to open range on our business hours and practice! We sell bows and equipment as well!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

We have clients from our Callowhill neighborhood in Philadelphia, greater Philadelphia Area and New Jersey. From parents and kids to seniors, our clients come from all walks of life!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Patience and offering the best experience possible during our archery class. We start everyone from scratch to shooting a group by the end of class. Let your friends and family know!
