We recently connected with Yuan Escusa and have shared our conversation below.

Yuan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

Starting a business at a younger age is always a risk. Growing up with traditional Filipino parents, they always told me that I had to go to school and become a nurse, typical filipino thing to do. While going to school, studying and volunteering in nursing school, I realized that this was not my passion. I felt that I was meant for something more, something bigger, something GREATER. I always knew that I wanted to become an entrepreneur. Dabbling in various spaces; from a clothing brand, dropshipping, amazon fba, etc just trying to figure out what kind of business I wanted to do. I ended up in the space of Social Media and Social Media Marketing. Dropping out of school and going ALL IN on the business, I ended up partnering with one of my closest friends, Niko Penuela, to create Social Solution. We are a Creative Agency, where we produce high quality video ads that boost sales and increase awareness. If we had not taken the risk to start Social Solution, we wouldn’t be the company we are today.

Yuan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Social Solution is a creative agency where we create high quality video productions and advertising campaigns that boost sales and awareness to brands and businesses. We do everything from shooting content for social media, advertisements, running the advertisement campagins, managing social media platforms and even other services such as website development and search engine optimiziation. Niko and I got into this industry by both previously, but separately, working in different marketing agencies. With both of our knowledge in the industry, we both wanted to take it to the next level. We both realized that video content is BLOWING UP with the TikTok and IG Reels, we knew that businesses did not know how to monetize video on these platforms. We then help increase brand awareness and monetize on social media platforms through paid and organic channels.

We always want to collaborate with the businesses that we partner to make sure that we execute on high level campaigns and videos in order to get the best results. I am super excited about growing more businesses and getting more and more creative with the advertisements that we produce.

How’d you meet your business partner?

The story of how I first met my business partner, Nikolas Penuela, goes all the way back to when were just kids. I first met him when we were 14 in water polo class. In the beginning, me and him never really got along. We were always one of the best on the team, so we would always be battling it out in the water. I had a certain of level of respect for him because of his resilience, strength, and determination in the water. Later on in the year, I had found out we are going to be going to the same high school, El Camino Real Charter High School. We started our first business together, YUNIK Clothing ( a combination of Yuan and Niko = YUNIK), a failed clothing brand just selling shirts to our close friends. That was the very start to our entrepreneur journey together. After high school, we had lost touch because I had transferred to another school my senior year. I knew that college wasn’t for me after a couple semesters. I wanted to start my own marketing agency. I had hit up Niko after a couple of year of not talking and lucky for me he was in the same boat. That conversation brought us to what we are today, Social Solution.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Working with a lot of clients in various industries; making content & curating high level campaigns, we have boiled things down to a few effective strategies we love to use. Our goal at the end of the day is to generate more revenue for the businesses that we partner with. We help achieve them by creating high level ad creatives that stop the scroll and catch eyeballs. The more eyeballs that we catch, the more eyeballs we can nurture to become paying customers. Attention, especially in the day and age that we live in, will make or break businesses. If their brand can’t reach its audience and send a message through captivating video they won’t be able to generate sales.
