Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ysa Galan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ysa, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As a financial professional and a mom, I found myself constantly connecting with women whose stories mirrored mine. I remember the early stages of motherhood and it was beautiful, but also overwhelming. Through finance, I met so many moms navigating similar challenges, and those conversations revealed how much we all needed community, support, and guidance. That’s what led me and my business partner to co-create The Mommy Village. A safe space for women to grow, heal, and thrive. Our mission is to support moms in every aspect of life from: financial literacy and business development to mental wellness and motherhood. It’s not just about helping, it’s about walking alongside them because we’ve been there too.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
What started as a desire to simply do more for myself and my son has now evolved into a mission to serve others in ways I never imagined. I wear many hats. An entrepreneur, educator, mentor, baker but at the core of it all, I’m a builder. I build systems that empower, brands that uplift, and communities that create space for women and families to grow.
Through my work as a financial professional, I help clients take control of their money. whether that’s building generational wealth, securing their children’s future, planning for retirement, or learning the basics of financial literacy. I focus on real, relatable education and personalized strategies that meet people where they are.
Outside of finance, I co-founded The Mommy Village, an organization created to fill a gap we saw in support for moms. We offer workshops, events, mentorship, and a safe space for women to develop in all areas of life financially, mentally, emotionally, and even professionally. We believe motherhood shouldn’t isolate you, it should connect you to a stronger version of yourself and to others walking a similar path.
I also run Royal Sweetz, my home-based bakery, where I blend creativity and celebration into every treat. It’s my reminder that joy, artistry, and passion have a place in business too.
What sets me apart is that I show up as myself in everything I do. I know what it’s like to struggle, to start from scratch, to feel overwhelmed and I bring that understanding to every client, event, or brand I create. I’m most proud of how many lives we’ve impacted in such a short time and the community we continue to build. If there’s one thing I want people to know about my work, it’s this: it’s rooted in purpose, guided by heart, and driven by real results.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
There are so many ways to build clientele like social media, branding, referrals, and staying consistent with your message all play a huge role. But if I had to name one method that’s been consistently opening doors for us, it’s the power of networking.
Over the last few months alone, the opportunities we’ve been given, the people we’ve met, and the rooms we’ve been able to enter have all come from showing up and putting ourselves out there. Attending events, building genuine relationships, and being present in spaces where connections are made has shifted everything.
And to be honest, that wasn’t always easy for me. I used to hate public speaking, and stepping into unfamiliar rooms was way outside my comfort zone. But I knew I couldn’t grow if I stayed where I was comfortable. Once I pushed past that fear, I realized how powerful it is to just show up, speak from the heart, and connect with people. That’s where the real growth began, not just for our brand, but for me personally too.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
One major time I had to pivot in my life was when I became a young mom and my son was born with medical complications. We were constantly in and out of doctor’s appointments, and while I was so grateful to have a supportive family, I made the decision to stay home and care for him full-time. That season of life pushed me to start my first business baking. It allowed me to still be present with him while creating something I loved and earning income on my own terms.
Later on, I experienced another major shift when my father, who had helped me so much, shared that he was sick. That moment changed everything. I wanted him to be at peace knowing I was secure and capable, so I doubled down. I built up my clientele in baking and began pushing myself further in my financial career, something that was already helping me grow and serve others in a powerful way.
Eventually, as my son grew stronger and I had more free time in my hands, I started feeling that pull to do something more connected to both him and my community. That’s what led to the creation of The Mommy Village, a space where I could merge my passions, support other women and moms, and still prioritize quality time with my child.
I truly believe life is full of unexpected obstacles, but in those moments we’re given two choices: sit in it and accept it, or pivot and create a new outcome for ourselves. I’ve had to pivot many times, becoming a home baker to care for my son, stepping into finance to secure our future, and co-founding TMV to serve others while staying close to what matters most. Each shift brought growth, purpose, and a new version of myself I never saw coming.
