My name is Yossi Assouline, and my journey has been anything but conventional. Coming from a tough background, I faced significant challenges after high school, including a period of drug rehabilitation. My path was marked by struggle and adversity, as I navigated a world without the support of a typical education. These experiences, though difficult, instilled in me a resilience and determination that would later become the driving forces behind my entrepreneurial spirit.
Despite these obstacles, I never gave up hope. I knew that I wanted to create something meaningful, something that would allow me to build on my strengths and create a positive impact. With this vision in mind, I founded The Gavi Team in 2021.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. The journey to building The Gavi Team has been anything but smooth. My path was marked by significant challenges and adversity. After high school, I faced a tough period that included drug rehabilitation, a period of homelessness, and navigating a world without the support of a typical education. I was expelled from high school and did not have much of a support system to rely on. These early struggles were incredibly difficult, testing my limits and pushing me to the brink. However, through these hardships, I learned the true meaning of resilience and determination, which became the foundation for my entrepreneurial journey.

The Gavi Team was built with a dream to foster an environment of cool and calm success, uniting achievements with the potential unlocked through unwavering commitment to both employees and customers. At its core, The Gavi Team specializes in e-commerce, offering a diverse range of products tailored to meet our customers’ needs through third-party websites. Our product offerings are dynamic, driven by the evolving demands of our customers and the innovative spirit of our company.
Beyond our e-commerce endeavors, The Gavi Team partners with reputable brands to create exclusive representations on various e-commerce platforms. We are proud to have exclusive partnerships with well-known brands such as Snacklins, Urbani, and our latest addition, Berg Bites. Our commitment to these partners extends far beyond typical supplier relationships; we have been instrumental in solving challenges related to cash flow, marketing, and even investing.
After several years of success in reselling, I felt it was time to create our own brand that not only served customers but also gave back to the world. This inspiration led to the birth of GevaGrow—a unique wildflower brand. GevaGrow features wildflower seeds packed in special shakers designed for easy seeding and storage. Our commitment to creating value beyond consumption has resulted in the planting of thousands of pounds of wildflowers across the United States, a milestone we are incredibly proud of.
Throughout our three years of existence, we have learned, failed, and succeeded on numerous occasions. We have achieved millions of dollars in sales and safely delivered hundreds of thousands of units to our customers. The Gavi Team continues to strive for excellence, driven by a passion for innovation, community, and sustainability. Our journey is defined by our dedication to making a positive impact and our commitment to nurturing relationships that foster growth and success.

I love New York City because it embodies the need we all have to be different and push ourselves beyond our imagination. Everywhere you look in the city, you can see the results of big dreams and hard work. I am a product of this city and am incredibly proud of it. What I dislike about the city sometimes is the relentless pace at which we all follow. As I get older, I recognize the need to take time for myself and create space to just exist as I am.
