Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yonson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
YONSON, appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I’ve always been drawn to observation—learning by doing, by seeing patterns in moments others might overlook. If I could have sped things up, I’d say it would’ve been by asking better questions, earlier. Skills like adaptability and focus became essential, though they didn’t come easily. The biggest obstacles were the ones I didn’t recognize at first: distractions dressed as opportunities and the comfort of staying in what felt familiar.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I work in 3D, creating pieces that explore light, form, and texture. What started as a way to bring ideas to life in the digital space has grown into a deeper focus on physical works. Lately, I’ve been working to translate my creations into something tangible, with the goal of exhibiting them in galleries and other physical spaces.
What sets my work apart is the intention behind it. Each piece is designed to invite reflection and spark a personal connection, allowing viewers to find their own meaning within it. I’m proud of the way my art bridges the gap between the imagined and the real, blending the digital with the physical in ways that feel fresh and engaging.
For anyone discovering my work, I’d want them to know it’s about more than just visuals—it’s about creating a moment to pause and see things differently.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
NFTs, at their core, are a fascinating development—a way to create a sense of legitimacy and permanence in the digital space. For collectors, they offer something rare: a way to truly own and verify the authenticity of a piece. That said, the broader potential often gets overshadowed by trends that lean into spectacle over substance. To me, NFTs shine brightest when they are used as tools for preserving meaningful work, rather than as vehicles for fleeting gimmicks.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I think of my work as a way to slow down the rush of everyday life, to create a moment where someone might see something they hadn’t noticed before. It’s less about giving answers and more about inviting questions—those fleeting moments where you feel like you’re seeing the world for the first time, even if just for a second.
