We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yoncé Wilson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yoncé below.
Yoncé, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I hope my legacy reflects that I led with love, creativity, and intention. I want to be remembered as someone who used what she had to create something meaningful, not just for herself, but for others. I want people to feel like I showed up fully, whether I was decorating a space or supporting someone I care about.
More than anything, I hope to leave something behind that helps take care of my family, a business that makes them proud, and a life that reflects faith, resilience, and growth. I don’t need to be known by everyone. I just want to be remembered by the people who mattered most as someone who kept going, gave her best, and made things better.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I originally got started in this industry with my mom, we launched our first venture together called Epic Balloons after taking a class that opened our eyes to the creative possibilities of balloon design. I was immediately drawn in by the joy, artistry, and impact that balloon décor could bring to any space. Over time, as I gained more experience and confidence in my own style, I was motivated to branch out and create a brand that reflected my personal vision and voice. That’s how Blown Away by Yoncé Balloon Decor was born, built from those early roots, but infused with my own heart, boldness, and faith.
I’ve invested in something that truly makes me feel alive. I’ve always loved the art of celebration, birthdays, baby showers, graduations, the moments that remind people how loved and seen they are. Balloons felt like a natural extension of that joy. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a business built on faith, boldness, and a commitment to excellence.
At Blown Away by Yoncé, I provide custom balloon installations and event décor services that are anything but basic. From garlands and backdrops to table setups and small-scale full event styling (primarily balloon-focused), I work with clients to bring their vision to life, with flair, intention, and a touch of “wow.” Whether it’s a corporate event, a school celebration, or a baby’s first birthday, I’m here to elevate the atmosphere and make every detail count.
What sets my brand apart is the level of care that goes into every single setup. I don’t just decorate, I design experiences. I listen to my clients, ask the right questions, and make sure the energy in the room feels just as good as it looks. I believe in making things beautiful, but also meaningful. I’m not in the business of copy-and-paste; I create customized, standout moments that reflect the personality and purpose of each event.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come, not just in business, but in believing in myself. I took a leap when things were uncertain, and I’m building something my family can be proud of. Every client who trusts me, every event I elevate, every person who walks into a room and says “Wow,” that’s what reminds me I’m walking in my purpose.
At the end of the day, I want clients to know that when they book Blown Away by Yoncé, they’re not just hiring a balloon artist, they’re getting a partner who genuinely cares, who shows up with heart and hustle, and who’s committed to making your special moment unforgettable.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is knowing I get to play a role in people’s most meaningful moments. I love turning blank spaces into something beautiful and memorable. It’s not just about balloons, it’s about creating joy that lingers even after the celebration ends.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Every creative journey has its highs and lows. I hit a point where I lost momentum and needed to reset, not because I didn’t love what I do, but because life required me to pause. But I never lost sight of the vision. Now I’m rebuilding with fresh energy, and that feels like a win in itself. Resilience, to me, means giving yourself grace and choosing to keep going.
