We recently connected with Yonatan Baevsky and have shared our conversation below.
Yonatan , appreciate you joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
As an actor, I’m incredibly happy because I get to do what I love and follow my dreams every day. There’s nothing like the joy of stepping into different roles and telling stories. It’s deeply fulfilling to be able to express myself through my craft and connect with others in such a meaningful way. That’s what makes me the happiest as an artist.
That said, I’d be lying if I said I never think about how a regular, stable job might be easier. The unpredictability of the acting world can sometimes be overwhelming, and the stability of a conventional job does have its appeal, especially during challenging times. It’s normal to wonder about a more predictable path and the security that comes with it especially while living in LA and having to be financially stable to survive here. after graduation from acting school I had a breakdown wondering if it’s worth it, but my gut feeling told me to keep going and this is what I’m doing.
the excitement and passion I feel for acting make it all worthwhile. Each audition, role, and performance is a step toward achieving my dreams. The highs and lows are part of the journey, and the joy I find in my work keeps me motivated and excited for what’s next.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m 23 years old and two years ago, I made the big move to LA to pursue my dream of acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. From the moment I set foot here, I knew I was right where I needed to be. Ever since I was 5, I knew acting was my passion, and coming to Hollywood has always been my goal. I couldn’t be more grateful to be living out that dream now.
What sets me apart is my unique background—I’m a mix of Ukrainian, Israeli, and American cultures, and I speak Russian, Hebrew, and English. I believe this diversity allows me to bring something truly special to the industry. I’m passionate about portraying different life stories and exploring new perspectives and cultures through my craft. I’m really good at adapting to different environments, which has helped me grow as both a person and an actor.
What I’m most proud of is having the courage to pursue my dreams relentlessly, no matter the challenges. I want potential followers and fans to know that my journey is driven by a deep love for storytelling and the human experience. My goal is to inspire others and bring stories to life in a way that connects with people from all walks of life.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an actor is the emotions I get to bring out on stage and the way those emotions impact the audience. As an actor, my goal is to make people feel something, to move them in ways that stay with them long after the performance ends.
One example that stands out is a play I performed at my acting school. I played a young man in a concentration camp who falls in love with a girl. The romance was intense and beautiful, but by the end, the audience learned that my character had cheated on her. After the show, people came up to me and said, “I fell in love with you, but also… screw you!” I was proud of that moment because it showed I’d successfully stirred real, complicated emotions. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love acting so much—it’s all about making people feel, connect, and reflect.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
As a fresh graduate from an acting school, one thing non-creatives often struggle to understand is that the journey doesn’t end once you get your diploma—it’s really just the beginning. My family and friends are incredibly supportive, but there’s this expectation that now that I’ve graduated, I’m going to instantly “make it” and land all the roles. What many don’t realize is how complex and competitive the industry truly is. Auditions are challenging, and landing a role takes time, persistence, and sometimes a bit of luck.
But more than that, my training isn’t over just because I’ve completed acting school. As an actor, I’m always working on myself, honing my craft, and pushing to grow both personally and professionally. It’s a lifelong journey of learning, adapting, and evolving, and that’s something I think many people outside of the creative world don’t fully grasp. But I believe in this process, and I know that each step forward, no matter how small, is part of building a lasting career.
