We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yolanda Warren. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yolanda below.

Yolanda, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

I believe the only thing it takes to be successful is determination. You have to change your mindset and only receive advise from those you trust. One thing I have learned about success is that “Nothing changes if nothing changes”

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Yolanda Warren. I was born and raised in Conway, AR. After graduating High School in 2000, I moved to Dallas, TX for a change of scenery and to start adulthood in a new city. In August of 2000, I met my husband. In January 2001 we were married! And 23 years later we are still going STRONG. In 2005 we decided we wanted a change of scenery and new experiences, so we packed up and moved to Los Angeles, CA. The Los Angeles scene was so new, hip, and inspiring, we decided to put a fork in it and now it is home. I am currently a Sr. Administrator in Corporate Logistics and Traffic at Warner Bros. Discovery. My 2nd job is managing 2 businesses In the Know with Yo and newly birthed Snatch Back Tea.

In the Know with Yo started because my friends inquired how I was attending a lot of events and taking pictures with several celebrities. For the most part, many of the events I was attending were work-related because I work in the Entertainment Industry. Initially, it was just a hobby and me sharing events with friends. I was sharing so much so that friends and my husband said I should start a business. On July 11, 2016, In the Know with Yo was born. Today, 100% of my membership has come from word of mouth and the support of my friends and family.

Warner Bros Discovery is truly a blessing. February 22, 2024 I will be with the company for 18 years!! Warner Bros. Discovery provides so many opportunities for employees to get involved. I am a member of all the Business Resource Groups. I served 6 years on the Board for Black Employees. I am an active member with our volunteer program — WB Impact. I take advantage of everything that is provided to me. The various events I have been so fortunate to attend have put me in the room with Celebrities, Studio Executives, and the Hollywood Elite.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Social Media can be daunting and if I can be transparent – I hate it! My membership is solely built on word of mouth. One piece of advice I would give is to actively be engaging with pages that pertain to your niche. For instance, I would engage (by commenting or liking) other event pages. Post something everyday on your story with music or tags.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I had to learn how to come out of my shell and become a “Networker”. I actually had to attend these events that I am sending my members to. Networking can give me social anxiety but one thing I learned from my husband is to just ask questions and find what you and the other person have in common. That then leads to one of us asking “You have IG?” – of course, everyone does!!!

Serving on the Board for Black Employees helped me develop Leadership and Communication skills. Without that structure and networking opportunities, I don’t think In the Know with Yo would exist today. I have made so many connections and built so many great relationships.
