We were lucky to catch up with Yolanda Crump recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Yolanda , thanks for joining us today. One of our favorite things to hear about is stories around the nicest thing someone has done for someone else – what’s the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

The kindest thing someone has ever done for me is turning me into an angel.

I am 45, mother of 4, ages 30, 27, 17, and 15. I have been taking care of people my whole life in survival mode.

In 2021, I experienced an awakening, realizing who I am; I decided, no more will I live in survival mode. The next chapter of my life I will operate in thriving mode; therefore, I walked away from my 20 year career, and embarked on an entrepreneurial path seeking to develop my talents and gifts.

My journey has been challenging.

I have faced obstacles, setbacks, barriers, theft of property, trials, and tribulations. I struggled with anger, worry, frustration, impatience, and lack of faith.

My journey required me to become deep rooted spiritually. I implemented starting my day with WWW; word, water, workout.

I made a choice to surrender and live a faith-base life. I made a choice to train my little voice in my head that nobody hears.
I made a choice to live good, do good, know good, feel good, and recognize the good. I made the choice to live a life of hope, peace.

I have been practicing this method for some time now, and every now and then I face tests. I recently encountered a situation where the core values I have established for myself were tested.

I am proud to say, I identified and continuously made a decision to do what was good for me. It was a shift.

Shortly after the shift occurred, about a week later. I saw a post on Facebook. A photographer I never met before posted:

“Looking for a woman with a white dress, and I will do the rest.”

I responded….

The photographer made me an angel and gave me a free photoshoot. The photoshoot was symbolic and meaningful to me.

When the photos were shared with me, I cried. My spirit spoke to me, reassuring me that I was on correct path of mission and purpose. I was reassured to continue on the journey and to continue to allow the Holy Spirit to lead.

My name is Yolanda J Crump. I hold a Bachelor of Accounting and I am an Enrolled Agent, previous IRS Agent with 20 years experience. In 2021, I realized I am an advocate instead of an enforcer, so I resigned from the Internal Revenue Service and started YJCRUMP Tax Firm.

I serve as a tax advocate for individuals and small business self employed by educating, representing, and informing on tax matters because knowledge is power and I want taxpayers to know tax law, their rights, and responsibilities so they can maximize their deductions to keep more money in their pockets.

I am the IRS, outside the IRS. I specialize in representing you before the IRS. I am your mouthpiece.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source of new clients for me is attending a networking event at the She Eo District organization in Atlanta. I received an invitation from the president of the organization to serve in a leadership role as an consultant for the organization.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What has helped build my reputation in the market are my core values, my customer service, and my knowledge.
