We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yolanda and Lola a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Yolanda and Lola, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
We created Pawlicious Cookies back in September 2021. We are a fresh, non-preservative, no added chemicals or artificial flavoring dog treat business located in Dallas, Texas. Unlike the treats found at local pet stores that have been or can be sitting on the shelf 2 plus years, our treats contain no preservatives, so they are the healthiest option for your fur baby with a one month refrigeration life shelf. Just like humans, dogs also require a balanced diet to maintain good health, so our dog treats contain essential nutrients to support their overall well-being. Our mission is to inspire all dog lovers to provide the best non-preservative dog treat.

Pawlicious Cookies was born out of our love and dedication for fur babies by providing a better and healthier treat available for all dog types to enjoy. Like mentioned before, all treats at pet or grocery stores have preservatives that gives it life shelf for over 5 years, ours do not. Pawlicious Cookies wanted to be unique by providing the best non-preservative treat that is healthier and all organic. We have baked over 15,000 treats since we opened. Since we have been open, we have been voted the best dog treats by the advocate, and are now available on Amazon. Our commitment to providing the healthiest, tastiest treats for your fur baby has been recognized with this prestigious award. We are also excited to announce our partnership with the MBA program with the Dallas Mavericks. With all of our accomplishments and journey we have embarked as a small business, we are beyond grateful for the opportunity to grow by spreading our mission and continuing to provide the best treat for your fur baby.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
We built our reputation through many factors. One of these factors includes using only high-quality ingredients which is demonstrated in our commitment to providing the best non-preservative treat for all fur babies. We are very transparent about our ingredients used in our treats and our mission which instills trust within our customers. Another main factor is the positive reviews and testimonials from satisfied pet owners that helps boost our reputation. We have also expanded our product availability by making our product available on a popular platform like Amazon. Lastly, we have formed partnerships with respected entities like the Dallas Mavericks, which demonstrates credibility and dedication.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing our clientele is our product quality and customer engagement. We offer high-quality, delicious, and nutritious treats that dogs love, and we have over a 90% return in satisfied customers. We also engage with customers through social media, email newsletters, and direct communication which has built a loyal customer base.
