We recently connected with Yohan Lewis and have shared our conversation below.
Yohan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a story that illustrates an important or relevant lesson you learned in school
The most important lesson I’ve learned in school was when I was in 12th grade at U of D Jesuit. The lesson learned was basically failure doesn’t define you, it builds you up so next time you can do better then before. I had a math quiz and I was so confident on it only to learn that I had bombed it. It sucks yea but I learned failing this will only make me do better on the next one. But the thing with doing better on the next one is, you have to work harder than the previous one. And I apply that to life. Say I try making a sale to a customer and I fail brutally in making that sale.. okay that’s fine, wake up the next day and work harder then before to complete that next sale. The concept works for whatever not just in school.. use it!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well I’m Yohan Lewis from Detroit, Michigan! I got into the industry from my older brother who’s an entrepreneur in Atlanta. He basically has the blueprint for me to follow if not do better than him. As of now, I’m an aspiring entrepreneur. I don’t have anything as of now, but I do have many ideas. But this is me just breaking the ice and getting my name out there before I get big eventually… The thing that WILL separate me from others will be my work ethic, grit, belief and perseverance and i believe not everyone has every single one of those skills except those at the top. And that’s where I’ll be.. only if I stay hungry.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
a time when I had to pivot was when I was a sophomore at U of D and my grades weren’t really looking top level.. they were below average. So if I wanted to go to a college that was able to develop me into a better person I had to put my head down and work hard for the next two years. And that’s exactly what I did and no one was gonna stop me

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My stories are mostly high school since I just recently graduated but my English Paper which was 10 pages it needed to be 10 or more and there were times where I got stuck. Being inspired by my teacher Dan Spilker, his encouragement taught me how to be resilient. In education and life
