We recently connected with Yoana Todorova and have shared our conversation below.

Yoana , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

Before I share my opinion, I like to define success. What is successful in the eyes of society, family, friends, and surroundings?

Ladies evolving in classical society are aiming to marry successfully, this is the main goal of life, to get married and have children- family.
For males it is more complicated, the idea of success is intertwined with financial stability and the need of social approval. Mainly having a certain type of car, house or luxury brand or being able to have a luxury lifestyle.
For males success is strongly related to being financially stable and having a specific income figure,as they call it here in the USA, the 6 figure.

The reason why social media has such a strong impact on society and humans as a tool of modifying, elaborating, manipulating instruments is because it taps into that illusion of shiny bright successful luxury life that most of the people desire but don`t have.
Nobody wants to see what is behind this shiny life,what it takes to shine.

When I was 21 years old I visited Malibu and I was stunned by those beautiful houses that were empty. I couldn’t understand the reason to have this property if you can’t enjoy it.
Most of those successful people with dreamhouse are not even enjoying it. They are busy running and trying to get more success, more money and just never stop and look around.

Sadly most of us are running to achieve other people’s dreams for instance parents, relatives and family expectations.
Parents have the patterns to put the weight on children to fulfill their own dreams, dreams they were not able to fulfill, or goals they are not able to achieve.
It is really rare to grow up without the weight of having to deliver a result. Even the school system pressures you to have specific results in order to be accepted by your classmates, or avoid having trouble with your parents. There is the illusion that if you have great votes you are going to be successful! And if as a parent you don’t care about votes, you are a bad parent as the subconscious belief is that you don’t want your children to be successful!

The Truth is that there are no votes, no money and no house that could make you feel successful enough if you are not content in life. They are miserable billionaires out there, and making money is their way to escape their loneliness and reality.
If you go to the hospital you can see people in their last moments of life, fighting to live more, people full of regrets.
People who want to get more time to live their best ultimate life once again. Most of the people who did not make choices guided by their Goddess gift, but chased their entire life things that did not bring them joy.

I believe that success is not the result of a job, house, car or being able to afford Louboutin shoes. Nothing on earth that you can purchase can bring you the feeling of success if you don’t feel happy with who you are and where you are going in life.
I believe success is a direction you chose. Having the power and the courage to choose how to spend your time.
I believe in order to feel fulfilled and successful in life you need to discover yourself, discover the Goddess gift you have inside and use it to create. Each human is gifted with some magic inside and I believe that in order to feel successful you need to connect to the magic you have and develop it. The time you have is limited. Don`t wait for permission to be who you are, don’t wait to be understood or encouraged, get your life in your hands!
I don`t do 6 figures. But I feel like a billionaire. If my life is over tomorrow I feel fulfilled, happy and grateful for what I have done with myself and my time.
If you had only a day to live, would you do what you do now?

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My business is called “Mirror Interpretation Todorova” or “MIT- interpretations”. No, I did not wake up one morning with the clear idea of having figured out my life. No, I did not plan my life to the dot. I let life happen to me, and I let my life come to me.
I chose the word “mirror” as part of my logo because the interpreting service requires transparency and equality in meaning as inclusion of the cultural meaning of a word or expression.
The logo cell of serotonin I chose with a friend paolo, whom I met in a garden in Italy. Paolo is a doctor of chemistry, when I discussed what my brand would represent and how my job requires trust, he guided me to the serotonin cell as the cell that represents the natural hormone of trust. This is how my logo was born.
Someone else shares their gift and knowledge and helps me create and express my values in a physical dimension.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I have a YouTube Channel called “Mirror Interpretation Todorova”, fakebook and Instagram with the same names. The truth is that I have been doing this job as a freelancer in Italy while I was a student, but I never considered doing it for life.
When I moved to the USA in 2016, I felt a huge amount of frustration. I met many unhealthy people, less educated and less mannered, who interrupted me to verbally abuse me, shame me and put me down, as a result I started to stutter. So I started my social media, specifically YouTube as a way to vent out. I was losing myself in this reality and stopped seeing my own value because I was constantly devalued by weak people.
So for me recording a video was a short time where I was able to speak my mind without being interrupted.
I was happy when people did not watch my channel, because I was afraid of judgment.
This helped  me build myself, and I started to see my value again.
I did not create content as I was told would be click bade. When I create I talk about things that are important to me and I wish someone had told me.
I shared my successes and failures with my followers sharing my authentic weak side and my powerful side.
I believe authenticity would always be fashionable. This is why people follow me. My channel is not a cotton candy perfection. My channel represents the real struggles of the industry and is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. I am learning and growing with my followers. Each time I talk I am reminding myself that this is real humans and not just a number. I believe this is the key to my success on my social media platforms.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

I believe that the most read book on earth remains the Bible. I have read the Quran, Upanishad, Panchatantra and Bhagavad Gita. I do read Peter Dunov (Deunov) or so called “Beinsa Duno” beautiful quotes that have power to inspire you.
I advise Najwa Zebian, Nedra Glover Tawwab, or Lindsay C. Gibson, Yerkovich, Lise Boureau, Rick Warren, Lundy Bancroft and many others.

Those are not books about management or how to build business. I studied Business in Italy which prepared me for my business needs.
But in order to be a powerful and successful manager and business owner you need to know who you are, discover yourself. You have only power when able to inspire.
