We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yisroel Juskowitz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Yisroel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I am driven completely by 2 passions: creativity and Spirituality/Judaism. In my story I have found a way to link the two of them together, using my creativity to enhance my own spirituality and make a greater impact on the world through inspiring others as well. Most of what I have learned is self taught, through a burning desire to explore my creative self. I am a professional artist, author, musician, speaker, life coach, and rabbi. And a licensed Physical Therapist too! (My day job lol).

Yisroel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am very driven to help inspire, entertain, and educate as many people as possible through my many creative mediums. Although the vast majority of my work is Jewish related (I am an orthodox Jewish Rabbi but with a very modern outlook on life), many of the things I do are universal. For example, my first book “The Hidden Path” is largely Jewish in content. many of the ideas and principles in it are universal. And I created a diet course on Udemy, based on my own weight loss journey. Although the principles in the diet course are based on Jewish wisdom, much of it is universal, and currently has nearly 5000 students enrolled. Other things I do besides being an author and course creator, are professional artwork, I am a musician, and motivational speaker that has travelled across the country with many of the creative mediums.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
By far the most rewarding aspect is seeing that my creative works have made an impact on the world. When I speak in front of an audience for example, and people come over to me afterwards and say how much they loved what I had to say, how insightful it was, and how inspired they feel, it helps me remember why I am doing all of this to begin with. The same thing when I see a positive review up on one of my books. Or were inspired by the music I played. Making money is the side show. The main attraction is the impact on the world.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Probably my biggest struggle was weight loss. I was never heavy to the point where I could be called obese, but I always had a belly that could never seem to go away. I just loved to eat too much! One day, I decided to take the law into my own hands. Do research on what were the best and healthiest foods on planet earth, as well as the most satiating. I then started to research core psychological and Jewish principles to help me lost the weight and keep it off. I lost 40 pounds in 100 days and kept it off ever since! It inspired me so much, that I created a highly successful weight loss course using everything I learned along my journey.
