Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yesenia Bernard. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Yesenia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

I started this journey as just a girl with a dream. I have been styling parties and weddings for over a decade; interest and passion that came into fruition after designing parties for family and friends. This passion of creating epic themed parties flourished even more after my daughter was born; and it became an official brand established as BP BLVD. It has not been easy. It’s been a combination of sleepless nights & hard work; I’ve cried..I’ve laughed..I’ve doubted myself. However, with the dedication and the strength god gives me everyday, keeps my motivation and my momentum going.
I love styling children; as a creative director, I offer a personal styling service that manages the selection of the attire of a client. This unique approach solves the problem of a client deciding on a selection of attire for their special day.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

BP BLVD (Balloon Party Blvd) is a party and event styling business that creates epic fashionable parties that are unique in every way; I manage the planning, design, and production of each event. As the creative director, I also offer a personal styling service that can manage the selection of the attire of the client. I believe that offering a personal styling option does set BP BLVD apart from others. I’ve always had a passion for fashion design and interior design which I incorporate these two concepts with all the events I create for each client.

My proudest moment was being featured by Kara’s Party Ideas and Catch My Party, just 1 month after launching my brand via IG. It was a surreal moment for me. Certainly, a dream come true.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

The film that has been instrumental in my entrepreneurial thinking is the film KING RICHARD. This film definitely shows the relentless effort and work ethic both of the parents put into their children’s success. Their ability to manage trials and tribulations is very inspiring to me; as success does not come easy and does not come overnight. Success is truly made up of hard work and following your passion. Passion fuels purpose. God has put us here to fulfill a purpose.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My journey has not been easy; it has been a combination of sleepless nights and hard work; maintaining a work-life balance has been challenging while being a wife and mom. But with dedication and the strength god gives me everyday it keeps my motivation and my momentum going. Lessons I’ve learned along the way is that I am human and not perfect; what is meant for me will work within the timeframe that is for me, and it’s ordained by god. I’ve learned to trust god’s perfect timing.
