We recently connected with Yeonjin Park and have shared our conversation below.
Yeonjin, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
As a product designer who has experienced the complexities of the tech industry firsthand, my most meaningful project is Collecto, a personal work documentation tool I developed during my master’s program. It grew out of my own challenges tracking and validating professional experiences. I created an AI-powered platform that automatically generates worklogs from users’ digital work history, addressing a real problem many tech professionals face when trying to document their achievements.
The project’s significance extends beyond its technological aspects – Collecto recently received recognition from the Indigo Design Awards and Global Design Awards in 2025, which was certainly validating. But more importantly, it reflected my interest in solving workplace collaboration challenges and helped shape my career path toward creating technologies that genuinely improve professional experiences.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a product designer with several awards under my belt, I’ve focused my career on transforming communication experiences through innovative design and technology. My journey started in visual design with various professional experiences, including a lead designer role for a movie streaming service in South Korea. One early highlight was receiving the RedDot 2019 ‘Best of the Best in Brand Design’ for my social impact project ‘Body Playground,’ which taught me how to create visual narratives that communicate complex ideas effectively. I transitioned into product design by applying this visual expertise to create impactful solutions, beginning with growth design projects at Yahoo that improved communication for millions of users.
My Master’s in Design for Interactions provided me with a unique perspective on technology and user experience. Currently, I work at a leading work collaboration tool company, developing intuitive communication solutions that incorporate AI to enhance user experiences. My approach combines visual communication, productivity tools, and technological innovation to create seamless design solutions that address complex user challenges in both personal and professional contexts.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of my creative work is seeing the tangible impact of design on people’s lives. When I created ‘Body Playground,’ the positive feedback from event participants confirmed my belief in design’s power to spark meaningful conversations and drive social awareness – it showed me that creative work can go beyond aesthetics to foster genuine human connection.
In my product design practice, this sense of reward has deepened. There’s real satisfaction in developing solutions that help companies achieve their goals while improving work experiences for people worldwide. One of my internal collaboration projects reduced email publication time by almost 86%, significantly improving our engineering team’s productivity. My AI-integrated projects have also transformed workplace communication by creating more intelligent tools that help teams collaborate efficiently. These achievements represent meaningful improvements in how people work together and experience their professional lives. By pushing design boundaries, I aim to transform complex challenges into elegant solutions that address real-world needs.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
As a designer, my mission is to create solutions that positively transform people’s experiences by connecting technological innovation with human-centered design. My own experiences as a tech professional have driven me to address tangible challenges through creative problem-solving. Projects like ‘Body Playground’ and my work on collaborative tools demonstrate my belief that design can be a powerful catalyst for empowerment and positive change. I’m committed to bridging technological potential with human needs, creating meaningful improvements one project at a time.
