We were lucky to catch up with Yasmin Rosales recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Yasmin, thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success can be measured in different ways. Defined, success is “having achieved popularity, profit, or distinction”. To some success is having money, expensive cars and other material assets. To others, success is a sense of accomplishment, and career positions. But false measures of success are often derived from seeking the approval of men.
I define success by the state of my heart in my relationship with God. In biblical aspects, success is measured by Godliness, faithfulness, and contentment no matter the circumstances.
In order to be successful in life and business, you must be willing to put in the work and always do what is right and honorable. Even when. no-one is watching. The price you pay is the sacrifice of having to work extra hours on top of your job, not making much at first, and going through the mental battles and turmoil it takes to build something.
We all come with different levels of ambition and tolerance for handling trials. Whichever the level, you have to make up your mind that you’re willing to climb and do what it takes as long as it takes.
Tough times don’t last, only tough people do & with God anything is possible.
Yasmin, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
At first, STIR IT UP was just a side hustle. During the pandemic, a lot of us- including myself were left in despair and hopeless with no direction and with no job. I always had a desire to start my own business but was unsure of the how or what! Desperation let me to think of witty ideas and ways I could earn a few bucks.
I began by selling packaged drinks in mason jars to close friends and acquaintances. To my amaze, the word spread! and I began to get more and larger orders. The profits made where enough to hold me by. The name “STIR IT UP” came from the mixology technique of combining cocktail ingredients, then stirring them enough to dissolve the ice to water-down the potent alcohol mix.
Soon after, I opened an IG and profile on thumbtack.com which helped me start my business. I then scaled to other platforms like The Knot, Zola and a few others. Google has been my biggest helper! Thanks to the lovely clients I’ve had over the last 3 years, their wonderful reviews has helped me be seen and grow organically. And can’t forget Instagram growth! A stablished Social media platform and word of mouth are currently my successful marketing tools.
Today, I own several satellite bars, a refurbished horse trailer bar named “Glory” and a team of men & women who love service as much as I do. This is definitely a milestone worth celebrating!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My journey has been a tough one. From almost losing everything I owned to dealing with anxiety, depression and mental health. At times, I felt like giving up and quitting. It was until God changed my life back in 2020 and I have not been the same since. God plucked me out from one of the darkest seasons in my life. His rich mercy transformed my brokenness and gave me faith, hope and strength to keep on.
“For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again” No matter what I have endured and suffered, I get right back up and keep persevering. I now have faith and I know that with God on my side, I can do all things.
Resilience is a gift from God. When we walk with Him and trust in Him, we can rely on him for the strength we lack. Whichever circumstance you are facing, you can cry out to God, He cares and He listens.
