We were lucky to catch up with Yasmin De Oliveira recently and have shared our conversation below.
Yasmin , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
I care for my clients furkids in the comfort of MY home. As a dog owner, bringing them to a dog kennel or a dog hotel where there is close to 20 or 30 dogs around, it’s not what people look for. You look for a place that’s home away from home for your furkid. A place that reminds them of THEIR home, where they aren’t crated ever, where they have access to cuddling on the couch with you, looking out the window as much as they want, playing with lots of toys, napping anywhere they feel comfortable, taking walks multiple times a day, if you sleep with your pup in bed so will I. The point is for your furkid to do exactly what they do at home along with making new fur friends. I only take in 6 dogs for sittings and this helps a lot because dogs do not feel anxious or stressed out over too many pups around and not receiving the proper attention. Plus they always have me around and are never left alone. This is the reason why my clients love bringing their furkids to me. After all your furkids are on vacation too!

Yasmin , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Yasmin De Oliveira AKA Yaz. I am 38 years old. I was a Phlebotomist for 17 years. My passion and my dream has always been anything that has to do with animals especially dogs. I grew tired of the medical field and the stress that came along with it. I hated the 9 to 5 job setting, I wasn’t happy at all. I knew deep down inside I was meant to do more. One day I told my husband I wanted to quit my job and take the chance on starting a dog sitting business. He supported me 100%. I started off by walking dogs first then I incorporated sleeping over peoples homes if they needed their dog sat. I promoted myself as much as I could through social media. I proved myself to be a trustworthy, loving, dedicated dog lover. I then turned this into dog sitting in my home. And I focused strictly on that. Between promoting and word of mouth, my business is busy and flourishing today. I’m grateful to God that I took the chance and that my husband believed in me because I am now doing what I dreamed of.
I provide dog sitting services in the comfort of my home. Your furkid will go on many walks throughout the day, they get to nap, play with other pups and also with toys. They get to cuddle on the couch and bed and enjoy treats as well! You’re furkid will never be left alone, I am always home.
The only problem that I solve is sitting for your furbaby when needed! People know that I go above and beyond for their furkids! I treat them like they are my own. My clients notice every time they bring their pup to my home, their furkid runs to my door, that’s how you know they love being here. They never want to leave! My home becomes their second home. That’s what people look for, a safe, loving, comfortable home environment for their furkids to stay while they are away.
I am proud that I did not give up, that I put my time and my dedication into this even if it was tough. I am a hard working, determined individual who keeps it going and again never ever gives up. I love what I do, it’s my passion and I am very good at it. My clients pick up on my energy and their furkids do too, they know I am the BEST dog sitter there is. To all of my clients, I appreciate you very much!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Showing clients that I am trustworthy to care for one of the things they love so much: Their Furkid. Once you find a sitter who is fantastic with your pup and that your pup loves, you will literally tell everyone you know who has a pup as well that you found the best sitter ever! People have come to me all because of how much others have raved about me. I appreciate everyone for that.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
There is no secretary, no automated line either that you have to go through in order to reach me. You call me directly or you text me. I run this business on my own, I manage it, I know my schedule and I’ll be the one to let you know my availability. You get to interact with me personally. I am the one who will text you daily on how your furkid is doing during their stay at my home. I am the one who will send you videos and pictures of your furkids to give you peace of mind while you are away. I manage it all! My clients love that because they are interacting with the creator of Yaz Pet Services: ME and they get to know me. I become family to my clients and them and their furkids become mine as well.
