We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yasmin Campbell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Yasmin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project i worked on and still working on is the ReGeCk Outreach foundation. Every 3rd Sunday we feed and cloth the homeless in downtown Dallas. . You see it means alot to me. I once was homeless i never had to sleep out side i slept in my car got a hotel room or someones couch. But i was a second away from sleeping out side. ive been hungry. i remember only having enough for to eat for one so i split it between my 2 kids and i drunk water. Helping tghe less fortunate gives me joy and hopefully while i out there i can encourage someone that they will make it I DID.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part is watching people no matter they background and walk of life relate to my music. Watching them resite and feels the lyrics as if its speaking to or for them . And the best feeling is the community outreach making a difference in some one life.. My slogan is In our differnt Let’s make a difference
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I have been on this music journet for around 20 + years . I lost alot, made plenty of sacrifices and missed out at one time on living. But in the end the fame and fortune i learn was not the importance of my journey the lessons i learned which comes thru my music was. And having an positive impact on someones life makes it worth it
