We recently connected with Yaroslava Hnatiuk and have shared our conversation below.
Yaroslava, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
My journey began when we moved across the country to California for my husband’s job. I knew I’d need to find work, and being a nanny seemed like the obvious choice. With my background in education and a teaching degree, I always thought that was the only career path for me.
But then I discovered content creation. Unlike traditional jobs, this field values creativity and social media know-how over formal education. Many successful content creators build their careers through self-taught skills, online courses, and consistent practice. That was the path I decided to take.
I’d always skip ads on social media, but one day, a creator’s post caught my attention. It didn’t feel like an ad at all—it felt natural and authentic. That made me think: This can be done more organically. I dug deeper into User Generated Content (UGC), filling my phone with screenshots of tips and resources. I quickly realized you don’t need a huge following to work with brands—you just need the right knowledge. I invested in a $50 course that provided everything I needed to get started.
Two months later, after lots of doubts, I finally launched new social media accounts focused on UGC. Within three weeks, I landed my first paid deal: a $150 video for a wellness brand. I was shocked and thrilled—it worked!
Since then, I’ve worked hard to improve my skills, pitch brands, and build my portfolio. Sleepless nights and constant hustle paid off as I built the content creation business I had once only dreamed of.

Yaroslava, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who don’t know me yet, my name is Yaroslava Hnatiuk, and I’m a content creator specializing in User-Generated Content (UGC) and brand collaborations. My journey into this industry was a bit unconventional. Before entering the world of content creation, all I knew was how to be a teacher and a nanny. However, when I was ready to explore something more creative and flexible, content creation became the perfect fit.
I create high-quality, engaging content for brands, including product videos, social media posts, and advertisements that emphasize organic storytelling. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with strategy. I understand how to craft content that feels natural while still driving engagement and delivering results for businesses. I also prioritize building long-term relationships with my clients, understanding their brand’s voice, and producing content that aligns with their vision.
What I want potential clients, followers to know about me is that I’m not just about creating content—I’m about creating content that makes a real impact. My goal is to help brands connect with their audiences in meaningful ways, whether they’re a small startup or an established company. I focus on quality, creativity, and delivering results while staying true to the authentic voice of the brands I work with.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been delivering exceptional work and building strong relationships. By consistently going above and beyond for my clients, I’ve earned their trust, making it easier for them to return and recommend me to other brands.
A big part of my growth has also come from being part of a supportive community of creators. We often share UGC opportunities, and I’ve been recommended to brands by others who have seen my work. Additionally, I’ve built strong relationships with agencies, who keep coming back because I consistently deliver high-quality content and results.
In short, delivering quality work, building meaningful relationships, and proactively seeking opportunities have been key to growing my clientele.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story that illustrates my resilience happened when I was trying to land a collaboration with a popular brand I had been admiring for a long time. Despite my efforts, my outreach kept falling flat. My direct messages went unread, and the general emails I sent through their website were met with silence. I saw other creators working with them, so I knew they were open to partnering with more people, but I just couldn’t find the right way in.
Instead of giving up, I kept pushing. I engaged with their content on social media, leaving thoughtful comments and interacting with their posts, hoping to get noticed. I also demonstrated the type of content that could resonate with their brand by posting relevant content on my socials. I wanted to show them that I understood their brand’s voice and could create content that aligned with their values.
Only after months of persistence did I finally get a response—and the same agency I had worked with for a beauty brand took notice of my efforts and connected me with this brand I wanted to work with for so long. The week after, I landed a deal with them. That experience was a true test of my resilience, and it reinforced the importance of not giving up, even when the doors seem closed. I learned that persistence, creativity, and finding new ways to demonstrate value do pay off in the end.
