Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yarelis Rojas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Yarelis, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I am happy to say I am extremely happy to be a business owner. I used to work different regular jobs, one being on retail for 15 years. When I went into full-time as a business owner, my biggest fear was not being able to provide for my family and often wondered if it was the right choice. And it definitely was! I wouldn’t change being a business owner for anything else. Of course there’s stressful days, and other days were that imposter syndrome really kicks in. But not only am I able to provide even more for my family now, but I get to create may own time and availability to be more present for my family, unlike a regular job where I constantly felt trapped. Being a business owner has also provided me with the space and freedom to be my creative self.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hola! My name is Yarelis. I am originally from Puerto Rico, and now reside in the sunshine state. I am a vibrant & colorful photographer. My work consist of anything from weddings to newborn sessions. My style is definitely heavily influence by my vibrant heritage. I first fell in love with photographs at the early age of 8. I remember spending my afternoons just studying and being mesmerized by National Geographic magazines. Along with photographs, I also love providing prints and books for my clients to cherish for a lifetime. Things I like to help my clients with are making sure their visions come true. Whether that may be helping with locations, wardrobes, props, you name it and I’m there to help in anyway. One thing I’m very proud of is providing all the sweet memories for my clients and seeing them so happy. That really means the world to me. I give my heart and more into what I do, and always go above and beyond for my clients.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being consistent and keeping great communication! Clients really appreciate when you get back to them on a good timely manner and answer any questions you can.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As any business, there’s times where things don’t always go right and you wonder if to keep going at times. Whenever I run into a problem or a negative situation it only motives me to keep going and be even better. No matter what life has thrown my way, I keep walking forward and ready for anything.
