We were lucky to catch up with Yanna Cabrera recently and have shared our conversation below.
Yanna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Bella Paz and the mission behind its story is a simple one. I believe that each piece should be as unique as you are. We live in a mass produced fast world. There is nothing wrong with that but if you can own something that was individually created, how special is that! Each of my pieces is created with genuine stones and materials. Each piece takes at least 4 hours to create. I start with a base for some reason I fell in love with and from there create.

Yanna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Bella Paz was created for the career woman. That woman that is out there changing the world for good. This amazing woman attends many philanthropic events and Bella Paz provides a unique piece for her to shine at these events. My name is Yanna Cabrera and I was a teacher for many years. My husband is an actor and musician who always had an event for us to attend. The little black dress took me everywhere but I started to see that a perfect STATEMENT accessory was a game changer. It completely changed the look. This is where my passion for creating these pieces came from. I create each one as I do a painting, with a lot of love.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I am a relatively new business but early on I remember one VERY bad month that I think about today and fills me with pride. Bella Paz was created when my husband announced one day that he would be gone for a month at a time to go on tour as a pianist. We have one daughter who was 13 at the time. I remember that I was invited to one of my first events where I could sell my handmade bags, earrings and cuff bracelets. The evening was at 6 in the evening and I didn’t want to leave my daughter alone. That night was a complete disaster. I had to bribe my daughter to go (she went but was not happy ) I had to load the car in a Miami thunderstorm, think suitcases table chairs the works. I was all dressed up getting wet in the rain, makeup running down my face, soggy shoes and wet hair. I got lost getting there and finally arriving had to unload the car again in the rain. The event was successful but all I could think of is my daughter should be home doing her homework and having dinner. As a woman we are constantly twisting ourselves into different people. Sometimes all in one night. The lesson learned is that the bad moments pass. They don’t last forever and they make us stronger. I learned that I have the strength to handle anything. I learned that if we break up those challenging moments in time into small achievable goals we survive and become more powerful.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
This is definitely a work in progress but one of the surprising ways I grow is asking my clients to send me a picture of them wearing their pieces. For me this is priceless. It shows any future customers what these beautiful women look like wearing my creations and for me it gives me an incredible amount of pride and fulfillment.
