We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yami Soto a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Yami, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

We named our business Vision & Vibe Events. When we decided it was time to rebrand, my husband Luis and I thought it would be essential to capture our essence in our name. A name that represented who we are and the energy we transmit as part of our core values. We are dreamers and visionaries that believe in the energy we give and receive. So when we started thinking of our new name, I felt like it came easy. It chose us.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

We are Yami and Luis, owners and founders of Vision & Vibe Events. Hey Fam! We feel very blessed to get the opportunity to share a little bit about who we are and what we do. Vision & Vibe Events is a Latinx owned Event company in Central Florida. Representation matters and part of why started was to be able to share with our communities of color that we too can experience Luxury Events without compromising our culture and authenticity. We provide Event Styling, Luxury Picnics, Styled Shoots, DJ and Photo Booth services throughout Florida and Destination.

We started the company in October 2019 right before the Pandemic. We’ve always wanted to own our own business together and at that time, life made sure we knew that it was time for a change. We had always created and hosted Events for our family and friends for years. Luis was always on his DJ mixer in charge of music and I was always the planner. We always knew we would officially join forces someday but it was only a matter of when. We love the energy of people coming together. No bad vibes, just creating memories and having a great time. That has always been our core and another reason our company name was so fitting.

We are very proud of the growth and changes we’ve been able to implement in these last few years. Being entrepreneurs isn’t easy but we love the freedom it gives us to shift and provide the best of us to our clients who we lovingly call familia or “fam” for short. In our culture we rely heavily on our close family and friends to pitch in their time and talents to make our Events possible. That includes the food, decorating and down to who’s playing the music. We don’t really accustom to hire outside help for these things. We wanted to change that in our little way to let our community know that we too deserve to sit back and just enjoy. That’s where we come in.

We help plan and customize your Vision with you. What your day would feel and look like, down to the details. Once that is set, we continue to communicate and become an extension of your family. The Day of, we come in and make sure the vibes are set from start to finish. Seeing you guys happy and knowing we were able to be a part of that, is always a full circle moment and it feels amazing.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?

My business partner and Co – founder is my husband Luis. We have been together for almost 18 years this coming November. He’s my high school sweetheart and partner in life. Building this partnership came naturally because our goals are aligned. We know how each other works and he understands when I’m in my zone. This sometimes is no easy task lol because when I do commit myself to a project, I immerse myself fully. Having someone that can grow through the growing pains with you and is willing to flow, shift and figure it out with me has been a special key to our business and our family.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Energy. It never lies. When you start off your business there is a lot of learning involved. Who are we and who is our ideal client? For us, we were very clear from the beginning that we aren’t in the business to sell you a nice tablescape with cute flowers on top. We’re here to create an experience that feels like you and we encourage that. We show up as our authentic selves and we attract that in the client family that we’ve been able to be a part of. Having a genuine relationship people and teaming up with great local vendors that are also aligned has been essential. Our styling and aesthetics is just the cherry on top.
