We recently connected with Yalonda Smith and have shared our conversation below.
Yalonda, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so one thing we think people don’t talk about nearly enough is investments – either time or money. What’s one of the best or worst investments you’ve made and what did you learned from the experience?
The Financial industry was the best investment I made. Most finance jobs require 4-year pr advanced degree. but building a business just educating individuals on things that schools and most parents rarely educate their children on is a passion of mines. How i got into this industry all started with my youngest son getting Diagnosed with ASD and I wasn’t able to work a 9-5 because of his therapy sessions and jobs was not quite ok with the time I had to take off from work. So, I then started my life coaching business coaching parents with special needs children, I discovered with helping families who were just like me that some were in a situation just like myself, couldn’t work and wasn’t making enough money to live a financially stabled life with children with special needs. I then realized that I needed to learn how to save money the correct way and build income enough to teach it to my families. I then partnered with a company by the name of World Financial Group to be able to share tip and put together a game plan for my families to either earn income while raising a special needs child and/or teach them how to save for retirement tax free and become financially independent. It’s my passion to educate individuals on saving Money , growing money and retiring happy.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a wife and a mother of 2 boys. Everything I do is for my family. I am a Professional life coach that specializes in Aiding parents with special needs children’s, Network marketing coach and I partnered with a financial firm to assist in financial coaching. In this business I have learned a lot of discipline when it comes to my own personal financial discipline, Personal development for myself and accomplishing goals not only for me but for those who believes in me and that I’m helping as well, helping people is what I do naturally so what i do in the business setting is just being myself with the knowledge to back it.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I cannot take the full credit for my social media presence. Every coach needs a coach so when it comes to Branding and Marketing my business, I give credit to my business coach Jarvis Releford, He found me in a complete mess lol, but he helps brand my business responsibly. I would tell anyone to make sure you not just have a business coach/Mentor you need a branding and marketing expert that you can tell them about what your business represents and allow them to execute your vision I got started in the middle of the pandemic in 2020 when it was very scary to spend money but hiring Jarvis was the best investment that generate 3 times more than i spent out within 1 month. I was out of a job due to my kids being home and my youngest son going to therapy 3 days a week, money was getting tight and i took the risk, you know the feeling you get when you meet someone and there is a trust feeling you get but skeptical at the same time. Thats the moment I jumped, when you visit my social media pages, you’ll see me motivating, connecting to strangers having conversation, telling you about my journey with my family and telling corny jokes lol, but that’s my personality.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There have definitely been a few pivotal moments in business and life. Starting off as quickly as I did and generating great income, I knew that in the type of business I’m in that one month may not be as good as the next. on top of having a family that needed me as well. Balance is no longer a thing with me it’s all about scheduling but even that can take a turn when you have kids. Being new in business I couldn’t get it together and the first 3 months in business was going go then my kids schedule trunked my schedule and my next month wasn’t what I wanted to see when it came to my income lowering. Frustrated, not knowing what to do but connection to the right people got me together. No matter what happens in business if it’s something you’re passionate about don’t give up because there will be bumps in the road allow them to happen to allow you to learn new skills to get you through those bumps so the next time you’ll be prepare or can avoid and it definitely will give you more tools in your tools belt to handle situations that will arise. Also having a son with a disability doesn’t stop it the very reason why I continue to elevate in the gifts that I have. As I help individuals It helps me.
