We recently connected with Yahir Carbajal and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Yahir, thanks for joining us today. Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?

My parents did everything they could to provide for me, they made sure I had everything I needed in life and the rest was up to me to work for. I was lucky enough to have loving parents who let me express myself freely. But i say the biggest thing and the biggest impact they had on me was letting me freely make my own decisions and let me live my life at a young age. I found out who I was and what I wanted to do at such a young age.

Yahir, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m at 19 year old kid from Tustin, CA. I made my company Box Boys my junior year of Highschool. I got into the industry by providing music video services in the music scene, through that I built my connects and started getting more self awareness in the scene. After meeting so many artists from filming music videos my brother and I decided to throw our own festival and that’s how BoxFest came about. I think was sets us apart from others is that you’ll only get our shows and our videos and our clothes from us and no other company or person can replicate what we have and what we’ve created.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Yes. Ever since the start of the journey I’ve always wanted to build and create a community where the fans and supporters feel just as involved as the artists and the people they look up to. And i did, I bridged the gap from the fans to the artists through our shows and videos. They feel just as involved.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

In my opinion I feel like we can all have some genuine interest with these new artists or clothing brands or companies that are rising in the underground scene. Everyone is so quick to shut down their attention because its something new they haven’t seen before.
