We recently connected with Yadiel Cruzado and have shared our conversation below.
Yadiel, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
When it comes to music, I have always worked with other artists as either a producer, a fill-in instrumentalist or a ghost writer. However, recently I had the privilege to write and producer my own full length album under the artist name of Elation Cycle. Delete Dream! is the first album I’ve ever had complete control over and thus I hold it very near to my heart. Although I spear headed the project, I couldn’t help the urge to involve my friends as much as possible since they are fantastic musicians. The collaboration between my friends and I lead to the dreamy RPG/Electronic rock sound that you can hear throughout Delete Dream!

Yadiel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As a curious 9 year old , I found an acoustic guitar behind an abandoned house and took it home. My parents helped me restring it and shortly after I found myself diving into the world of guitar. From there, I started playing with digital audio programs which pulled me away from guitar and opened my eyes to music as a whole. I realized that recording and producing music would stay with me for the rest of my life. I joined a few bands (Set in Stone/Wakeful) which introduced me to people within the industry as well as experience that now I couldn’t imagine living without. Now, I help other artists encapsulate their sound whether it’s through ghost writing, recording or even creating new projects with a client. This is the exact process that led to the development of Elation Cycle and I find the progression to be seamless and effective.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Seeing people resonate with a composition you’ve made is extremely rewarding to me. Every artist worries to some extent about how their art will be received and a lot of us work really hard to balance easy-to-digest catchiness with our personal preferences so when a listener reacts positively to your creation, it feels really good.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
It definitely took me longer than it should have to find programs like Songsterr which help you learn tabs much more enjoyably. I’ve always preferred to learn specific parts by ear and slowed down so I was never really a big fan of tabs to begin with.
