I was in charge of the rebranding for a Chinese packaging company that serves many U.S. and Europe-based clients and sought to expand its business. The client lacked a cohesive branding strategy when they approached me, so I developed a comprehensive plan to cater to the specific needs and preferences of U.S. and European customers.
As part of the rebranding, we redesigned the company’s website, created a new catalogue pamphlet, and produced an updated promotional video to showcase both the company and its factories. I ensured the new materials featured consistent and concise visual elements, catering specifically to the tastes of U.S. and European clients.
In addition, I led the company’s social media campaign on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. By analyzing customer engagement data, I tailored our content strategy to drive traffic and attract potential clients. Through data-driven insights, I continuously monitored the performance of the posts, adjusting content and posting strategies to increase engagement and optimize visibility.
My experience also involved using data analysis techniques to assess the impact of these rebranding efforts, helping the company identify which products and marketing strategies resonated best with different customer segments. By combining creative strategies with data analysis, I contributed to driving more targeted, informed decisions that better aligned with market demands.

My name is Xiaoyun (Ellie) Hu, and I graduated from the University of Southern California with an MS in Communication Data Science. Prior to that, I earned my BA at Boston University with dual degrees in Economics and Film.
I offer solutions to brands in the e-commerce space that want to stay ahead of the latest social media trends and need rebranding. Whether optimizing online presence or improving product positioning, I leverage data analysis to drive strategies that resonate with customers in the digital marketplace.
What sets me apart from others is my ability to approach challenges from a data-analytic perspective, combined with my background in film and economics. This unique blend allows me to craft comprehensive business solutions that drive growth and enhance brand visibility in a competitive e-commerce environment.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been my commitment to staying current with the latest trends and my open-minded approach to new opportunities. Additionally, I actively pursue collaborations and partnerships with businesses that align with my values and objectives. I believe that being proactive—rather than waiting for opportunities to come to me—is essential to building a thriving client base.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
When meeting a new client, I always strive to understand them thoroughly. It’s not just about learning about the client or their company, but also gaining insights into their products, services, target customers, and other key aspects of their business. Once I demonstrate my ability to quickly grasp their needs and identify both the potential and challenges within their business, trust naturally follows.
