Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Xavier Wilson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Xavier , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?

Of course ! All the time unfortunately It solely depends on the person though. It’s easy to be mischaracterized and judged when your a kid getting into a majority adult industry. The criticism is crazy but it keeps me going. I feel like most of it is hate due to the fact they see my potential , they feel my passion , and dislike it ….I also know they just don’t understand me and once they do their opinions will change.Even on a bigger scale when it comes to the music I produce and release , their is always different inputs and energies with different people . I work extremely hard and I try my very hardest to contain my ego and express my emotions . I know this is one of the many things that comes with being great and overall just transitioning into a better artist . Music is like the love of my life, so no matter what nothing can stop me from doing what I love , but hearing all the bad makes me undervalue my work sometimes. I take constructive criticism and improve in my areas that aren’t as strong. I still try to stay mindful knowing I can’t please everyone .

I am 16 year old independent artist from Chicago, IL that goes by Malico , I’ve been making music since the age of 9 and found my passion for it at the age of 11 . My fan base is still finding me, but essentially I say I make music of the misunderstood people who know they are special and can’t express themselves . The people in the ghetto that have Beverly Hills Dreams . The kids who are judged and generalized .My music is for everyone ! I’ will be a very different addition the Music industry past the fact that i’m still a kid ,but my entire persona and vibe is different! I could truly say I am me and that’s it ! I will be idolized and loved all across the globe because of my differences, I try to embrace everything and turn the bad good ! My music is more than a good time , it’s a safe place , it’s an outlet , it’s happiness truly ! I wanna motivate the youth to do whatever they want ! We are the future! We are the visionaries ! We essentially determine the lives of the ones after us ! The future is in our hands ! I
