We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Xavier Bryant. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Xavier below.
Hi Xavier, thanks for joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I’ve always been in sports since the age of 6 years old playing tee-ball, running track, and playing football up to the collegiate level, so I always had a good physical physique. When I broke my neck back in 2007, I’ve stop playing football and after graduating college I didn’t have the same physique I was used to having. When I’ve decided to change my lifestyle and started back working out and eating healthier, I was able to get that physical physique I was used to and on top of that I felt great. Being that I had the aspirations of having a career in the health and wellness industry as a physical therapist, I decided to first become a personal trainer to help change other people’s lives. The first step I had to take was to get certified, after that I had to do the following steps to start my business as far create a business name, get my LLC, get my EIN, develop a website, etc. The most important tough process was if I was able to help change other people’s lives by helping them reach their fitness goals. Of course, I needed clients to volunteer to do the workout programs I provided for them. Being that I am apart of a fraternity, it did not take me long to find people to do my program, but in this industry everyone’s goals are not the same. You have people that want to lose weight, you have people that want to maintain, and you have people that want to build muscle. Thankfully my first client I had do my program wanted to lose weight and I am Xcyted to say that he lost 28lbs in the first 30 days. That result built my confidence and the rest is history from there.

Xavier, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Xavier Bryant. I’m a Certified Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist through the International Sport Science Association. In addition, I Specialize in Pre and Post Natal Corrective Exercising through Fit for Birth. I have over 10 years of physical and personal training experience, I work with children as young as six, adults and seniors to help them reach their personal wellness goals. I specialize in group fitness, weight loss, toning, building muscle endurance and strength, improving mobility and stability, and nutritional guidance. Whether it is a program for children or adults, I am dedicated and committed to listening to my clients’ needs and providing them with the support and guidance needed to reach their fitness goals. What sets me apart from others is that I provide Convenient Concierge Fitness Services, where I travel to my clients in my State-of-the-Art Mobile Gym. This is what I am most proud of because I’ve designed a unique vehicle that is unlike any other mobile gym out there. One of the key factors of my mobile gym is that I can train clients inside and outside of the truck. On the outside of the truck clients can workout with TRX straps, Battle Rope, Resistance Bands, etc. In the inside I have a functional machine (cable machine) that gives my clients a full body work and are about to get the full gym experience right at their front doorsteps. With the mobile gym I provide personal training, group/corporate training, couples training, and semi group training. With the mobile gym group classes I can host classes for up to 36 participants, and inside the truck I’m able to train up to 3 participants. The overall goal is to franchise Xcyte Mobile Gym so that other personal trainers like me can provide fitness service to their clients at their front door steps.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Owning a used commercial vehicle will most likely come with issues especially with it being over 15 years old. I’ve purchased my truck in early 2020 and by the end of the year in December the mobile gym was fully equipped and ready to be introduced to the world. I was beyond Xcyted to see the vision I had come to reality. After two months of driving the truck, I’ve started to have issues. The first issues started with the brakes. I eventually got the brakes fixed and was back on the road, working hard to get clients to train. I was able to train 4 new clients with the mobile gym and within about three months of my getting the brakes fixed, other issues occurred with the fly wheel, the starter, and motor block, to just to name a few. I used to cringe every time I cranked up the truck because I was not 100% sure that it would start correctly. With all the issues occurring the mobile gym was in and out of the mechanic shop for close to a year. My clients were paying premium price for my service and with not having the mobile gym operating I had to cancel those clients until the mobile gym was back on the road. This was a very frustrating time for me and all that I’ve invested in the mobile gym. I was not getting a return on my investment, and I was in the negative. I eventually had to go back to corporate America and work at a gym until I was able to figure things out. Initially I was going to sell the mobile gym and focus on moving up the ladder with the gym I was apart of but after many nights of praying and keeping the vision in my mind of what I wanted to do with the mobile gym, I’ve decided to keep it and work harder to save and invest to fix the truck.
I could have easily given up on the mobile gym, but I remained resilient through the tough time of the truck breaking down and losing money. I had to take some steps back, get a job and work very hard at that job to save and get the mobile gym back on the road. The truck is now fully fixed and driving great. I am building my clientele and I see everything going in right direction for Xcyte Fitness Mobile Gym.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
There are a few factors that helped build my reputation within my market. Word to mouth is one of the ways that helped. Attending different networking events and speaking with others about myself, my business and the mobile gym help build my reputation. Posting on social media helped build my reputation within my market. Lastly, having such a unique concept/service with the mobile gym helps build my reputation within my market.
