We recently connected with Xavier Briggs and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Xavier, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At Briggs Realty, our mission is to empower families and individuals in South Jersey to achieve their dreams of homeownership and financial freedom. Real estate isn’t just about properties—it’s about people, their stories, and the lasting impact a home can have on their lives.
This mission is significant to me because I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of finding the right home. Growing up in Pleasantville, NJ, I saw how having a stable and supportive environment could uplift families and create growth opportunities. As a realtor and a community member, I’m passionate about being part of that process for others.
It’s also personal—real estate has allowed me to give back to my community in meaningful ways, like hosting a turkey drive last Thanksgiving to help feed 12 local families. These experiences remind me that being a realtor is about more than just selling homes; it’s about building relationships and making a difference.
At the end of the day, every closing I’m part of represents a new chapter for my clients, and knowing I’ve helped make that possible is what drives me to continue building this mission.
Xavier, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Xavier Briggs, and I’m a realtor with Keller Williams Atlantic Shore and the founder of Briggs Realty, based in South Jersey. I’m also a full-time junior at Stockton University, studying Business Administration, and a substitute teacher at Pleasantville High School. Balancing these roles, I’ve learned the importance of hard work, adaptability, and building strong connections, which I bring into my real estate career.
I graduated high school with an associate’s degree from Atlantic Cape Community College through my high school’s Early College Program. After graduation, I attended Penn State University but left once I discovered they wouldn’t accept my credits. While it was a tough decision to walk away, it taught me the value of persistence and making strategic choices, which ultimately shaped the path I’m on today.
I jumped into real estate because I knew I wanted to be my own boss. The idea of creating my own path and helping others achieve their goals drew me to becoming a realtor. Growing up in Pleasantville, NJ, I saw how having a stable home can create opportunities and foster a sense of pride. I knew that becoming a realtor would allow me to make a meaningful impact in my community by helping others find their place to call home.
At Briggs Realty, I provide a range of real estate services, from buying and selling homes to helping investors find rental opportunities like Airbnb properties. I specialize in simplifying the real estate process, making it accessible and stress-free for first-time buyers, growing families, and those looking to expand their portfolios. I’m particularly proud of my ability to communicate complex concepts in a way that’s easy to understand, ensuring my clients feel confident in their decisions every step of the way.
What sets me apart is my genuine commitment to my community and my clients. For me, it’s not just about closing deals; it’s about building relationships and leaving a positive impact. Last Thanksgiving, I hosted a turkey drive that helped feed 12 families in my area. These kinds of community initiatives are just as important to me as the work I do in real estate.
I’m most proud of my ability to balance my roles as a realtor, student, and substitute teacher while maintaining excellent results in each area. I made the Dean’s List for multiple semesters at Stockton University, successfully closed several real estate transactions, and have built trust in my community.
For anyone considering working with me, I want you to know that I treat every transaction as if it were my own. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a property, or investing in the market, I am dedicated to making the process smooth, transparent, and rewarding. At Briggs Realty, we don’t just help you find a house—we help you find a home.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me has been social media. We’re in a new era where everyone—from kids to older adults—is on social media. It’s where people spend their time, stay informed, and make connections. I’ve found that by consistently posting and staying active, I can keep myself “in their face,” so to speak.
When I post, I speak directly to investors, first-time homebuyers, and even potential investors, offering tons of valuable information to help them along the way. Whether it’s market trends, financing tips, or the step-by-step process of buying or selling a property, I aim to provide insights that will make my followers feel more confident about their decisions.
What makes it even more accessible is that my consultations are free. Even if you don’t know where to start or where you are in the process, my lender and I are always ready to help. This commitment to providing value—without any pressure—helps build trust and ensures that people feel supported every step of the way.
Social media allows me to stay in front of people consistently, and over time, this visibility turns into meaningful relationships and new clients. It’s not just about posting listings; it’s about being a resource for my followers, which is why social media has been such a powerful tool for me.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
When it comes to managing a team and maintaining high morale, my advice is to take it one day at a time. Things aren’t always going to be perfect, and we need to acknowledge that setbacks happen. I always tell my team that we have to stay composed and focus on controlling what we can control. There will be bad days, but it’s about how we turn them around and keep pushing forward.
I remind everyone that we’re not here to be perfect—we’re here to get 1% better every day. That means showing up, doing our best, and learning from our experiences, no matter what comes our way. By taking it one day at a time with our heads down and working, we stay focused on progress, not perfection, and that keeps morale high even when things get tough. And when we do have a win or a celebration, we keep a small head—things happen, and it’s okay to take a moment, but the next day, we’re back on track, trying to do it again.
