We recently connected with Xavien Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Xavien, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I was way younger to be honest. I used to watch Ebert and Roeper discuss film all the time so that always had me interested in movies most people didn’t care about like watching “The legend of bagger Vance” at 9 years old. As far as podcasting goes people kept telling me to do it when I’d have controversial takes on Facebook. So I finally made one once I was featured on a close friends.

Xavien, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well I’m 32 and overall I’m a family man first but I got into the industry being attached to a film maker friend of mine after we linked he recorded my first YouTube movie review and it was off from there. What sets my podcast apart from the rest is the fact that I’m doing this out of love not for fame or clout. I genuinely care about the topics I talk about I always do research first and I’m never PC (politically correct) facts have never and will never care about feelings. Everything I do is real and raw but always from a good place. I’m most proud of hitting 15k views on one of my previous episodes, that let me know I was doing something right. I’m not sure where or how far I want this to go but I’m here for the journey.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I worked for Facebook/IG so I had a little insight. The Algorithm is everything! If you think about it post it! Traction is what gets everything moving and people constantly seeing you pop up. You might hear that’s addicting but do it anyway. However DO NOT make those crazy post where you tag everybody on your friends list, that is just annoying and more than likely will have folks unfollow you just cause. Never be a force aways trying to land gently. You think people don’t see you but trust me they do.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Knowing that your voice is heard. A lot of us have opinions and that’s cool but knowing somebody is tuning in to you or waiting for you to drop is a different kind of feeling.
