Xanderr , appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?

Yes, there have been instances where my work has been misunderstood. For example, some listeners interpreted my single “Lost In The Rhythm” as a straightforward love song, when, in fact, it delves into themes of self-discovery and personal growth. This experience highlighted the subjective nature of art and taught me the importance of embracing diverse interpretations. It reinforced my belief that once art is shared, it takes on a life of its own, resonating differently with each individual.

Similarly, my track “Feel This Moment” was intended to convey a message of embracing personal freedom and being fully present, but some listeners perceived it as merely a dance anthem. This reinforced the idea that listeners bring their own experiences and perspectives to a song, leading to a variety of interpretations. 

These experiences have taught me to appreciate the diverse ways in which my music is received and understood. They remind me that while I can convey my intentions through my art, the ultimate interpretation lies with the audience, and that’s a beautiful aspect of the artistic journey.

I’m Xanderr Monroe, an independent musician based in San Antonio, Texas, creating music that blends pop, house, and electronic dance vibes. My journey started as a personal exploration of sound and storytelling, and it quickly grew into a passion for crafting music that connects people through shared emotions and experiences.

My work focuses on creating immersive tracks that balance energy and emotion. Whether it’s an upbeat anthem to dance to or a reflective piece that resonates deeply, my goal is always to evoke a feeling. My most-streamed single, “And He Said,” captures themes of self-discovery and personal growth—concepts that resonate not only with me but also with my listeners.

In 2021, I made a significant pivot by leaving the corporate world to fully dedicate myself to my passion for music. This transition was both challenging and rewarding, as it required me to embrace uncertainty and invest wholeheartedly in my creative aspirations. Since then, I’ve been creating music that blends pop, house, and electronic dance vibes, aiming to connect with listeners through shared emotions and experiences. 

This decision has allowed me to grow as an artist and connect with a community that shares my love for music. It reinforced the importance of following one’s passion and the fulfillment that comes from aligning your career with your true interests.
