We caught up with the brilliant and insightful X Li a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, X thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

“My latest project, titled ‘california love stories’ holds a place, in my heart particularly in the context of today’s fast-paced music industry. In an environment where the focus is often on rapid production, ‘california love stories serves as a homage to the core essence of creation – dedicating time and effort to create a true masterpiece.

What sets this project apart is our commitment to using real musical instruments during the process a decision that demanded immense devotion and patience. To bring this vision to life I collaborated with a group of musicians from Italy, who brought their skills to enrich the project. Furthermore we were fortunate enough to have one of the best Los Angeles engineer – a 12 time Grammy nominee – and acclaimed multi platinum record producers involved in shaping the project.

The production of ‘california love stories was an undertaking that spanned over six months. This duration was not solely dedicated, to recording but also ensuring meticulous attention was given to every aspect of the music. The emotional depth conveyed through this project is profound and speaking purely from a production standpoint I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished.

‘california love stories goes beyond being an album; it serves as a tribute, to the strength of working the artistry involved and the timeless allure of creating music, with real instruments and heartfelt dedication.

X, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

“Hello everyone, I am X Li, a cross-genre music artist. My project, ‘California Love Stories,’ is one of the best-selling music projects in the Web3 space. I have made significant contributions to both the music and tech industries.”

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?

“My perspective on NFTs comes from a place of authority in the field, as I am one of the world’s best-selling music NFT artists. There’s a general lack of understanding about what NFTs truly are among the public. I foresaw the potential for integrating blockchain technology with music when blockchain was first emerging. Initially, blockchain was known primarily for decentralized currencies like Bitcoin, which didn’t have the capability to carry additional information or ‘smart contracts.’ However, the advent of the Ethereum blockchain marked a significant evolution. It was a shift from a blockchain that just dealt with decentralized currency to one that could carry information. This breakthrough led to the development of NFTs, making them one of the earliest and most significant use cases of this new blockchain capability. In this sense, NFTs are a milestone in the advancement of blockchain technology.
The future of blockchain technology holds immense potential, and it’s something that needs continuous exploration and advancement. NFTs are just the beginning, and I believe there’s much more to come as we delve deeper into the possibilities that blockchain technology can offer.”

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

The driving force that fuels my journey stems from my dedication to innovation. Being surrounded by friends who’re founders, in the technology industry ranging from startups to billion dollar companies places me in a position at the crossroads of cutting edge technology and music. My objective is to incorporate the technological advancements into my music career with the ultimate goal of catalyzing innovation and progress within the music industry.

This pursuit isn’t a reflection of my strengths; it resonates deeply with my passions. I firmly believe that by merging state of the art technology with the artistry of music I can offer something transformative. My mission revolves around pushing the boundaries of what’s achievable in music creating avenues, for expression and immersive experiences within this ever evolving industry.
