We were lucky to catch up with Work in Progress Productions recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Work in Progress Productions thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
Creativity is always in us. It is our connection to divinity. The closer one is to the source of all things, the more in tune they are with their creativity. Acknowledging and Embracing it are the keys to nurturing a vast healthy endless supply of creativity.
If we could go back in time, we would have fed into our childhood fantasies even more. We would have fully fleshed out those stories, the adults told us were wild and crazy. The world is owed the most authentic, expressive, diverse versions of our imagined reality. This is the area that provides the innovation for most of our technology, the empathy for our strongest connections and the path to even more creative processes.
We all started at different places some in school plays, some in the mirror with mom, some through the pages of a book and others through the sounds of life which move us. The more interesting part is how so many different paths unite to create something new and great.
We started at the most important time for us. More so than wishing we had started earlier, it is important to focus on what we do next!

Divine, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a production house, we all came into the industry from different positions. Many of us are a part of the SAG union as writers, makeup artists and even actors. We have IMDB credits, work on sets continuously and even consistently shoot T-Mobile commercials for the Super Bowl. One of our members has a poetry book in publication by the name of “The world is burning and I’m late for work”, make sure to check it out!
For our clients, if you imagine it, we can do it. We’ve filmed weddings, sporting events, podcasts, commercials and short films. For large scale productions, we’re consistently hired to do makeup work, DP (Director of Photography) duties, Production Assistance and co-wrote scripts.
While we have brand work with T-Mobile, Dove Soap and Eternal Water to name a few, we’re most proud of the satisfaction our clients receive from seeing the results of our work. When we’re hired to for a photoshoot and the models are ecstatic with the outcome of the looks, we’re proud. When clients call us up to recommend us to other clients because of how we handled their project, we’re proud. When we effectively convey a message in our creative works, we’re proud.
I believe what sets us apart is there’s an authenticity to the craft that comes with what we do. When you’re around us, you feel it. When you see how we support, encourage and move, you’ll feel like part of the production family. In reality, we are all one family as humans, its about realizing that and connecting with the humanity in each individual that matters.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
As children many times are voices ended up muted, by the adults who “knew better.” Tapping into that inner child / connection to divinity is important. It is important to encourage voices from everyone. Even those in which we don’t agree. If everyone shared the same view on things, life would be kind of dull. Opposition when presented in a constructed way can be great as it promotes growth. Growth = Life! Every artists is breathing life into a world that is rapidly losing it from many different angles. Society must open itself back up. Its okay for artistry to rub you the wrong way. Instead of wanting to mute the opposition, it should be encouraged to see where they were coming from with their message completely. Removing yourself to step into their world! Live there, embrace the fantasy. Then you can connect with people on a more deeper level.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Everything doesn’t have to be complicated. Simplicity really is key. We are driven by inspiration, connection, growth, empathy and love.
