We were lucky to catch up with Winston Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Winston , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I remember watching Prince sing and play guitar, he had a movie called Graffiti Bridge in 1990.It was about love, music and pain. I knew then I would become a entertainer.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

When I was 13 I got my first guitar after asking my mother every day for a year. That was the beginning of my career because I’ve had been singing and writing but now I had an instrument. Growing up I played every day and wrote songs and was in many bands. Fast forward into adulthood I’ve entered in contest and won some. Which lead me to write songs for Sony music, Columbia records and Capitol records.After many years Had pasted I kept honing my craft and created the brand Mr. That Feel. It’s about keeping Retro R&B alive.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Yes, I plan on bringing the entertainment aspect back to R&B. James brown was a great performer into his later years and he inspires me. So I want to spread positivity and good energy at my shows and be a household name.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In the year 2018-2019 I want to give up on music. So I went back to school but my passion wouldn’t let me go. I wrote the album #9 without even realizing it was like my rebirth into music. I thought I would put this dream of performing behind me but I was wrong I kept going. Now that album cover is on a shirt to remind me to keep going.
