Winfred, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

Starting this business was definitely a risk for me because I didn’t know what the outcome would be. But I took a chance and I’m glad I did I have the best support team which is my parents and my sister they have really had my back threw it all.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I’m originally from Boston mass Haitian American I have 2 beautiful children Tyliah who is 15 and Mickenson who is 3 . How it all started a friend I went to high school with put a post up about doing a candle class . So I thought about it for a couple days and decided to take a leap of faith and sign up for her class. This first started out as a hobby for me I never really thought it would be bigger then that it was something that was therapeutic for me . I would make some candles here and there take them to work and have my co workers smell them . They would say to me Winnie these candles smell so good you should start selling them . For months I thought of how I was going to start a business while being a full time mom and having a full time job . So I prayed on it and left it to God and he has truly blessed me my family members were my first clients then came my co workers . My parents have always taught me to keep God first and always work hard for what you want. I make handmade soy wax candles and wax melts and when I make a candle for a client I make it with love and I take my time with it .

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

Word of mouth ,social media and a candle class I just recently hosted at Bashment Event Center .

Any fun sales or marketing stories?

The first time I had to sell a candle I was scared cause I didn’t know how to go about selling my product so I would practice with my family members until I was comfortable enough to sell out there in the world.
