We recently connected with Wilmarie Hernandez and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Wilmarie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
From a young age I noticed how taking calculated risks always led to growth and aligned experiences. While in college I took the risk of switching majors from engineering to, what it seemed at the time, a way less lucrative career choice but one that felt more aligned with my desires, interests, and values. It ended up being a very fulfilling career that even allowed me to achieve a comfortable level of financial freedom. In the first half of my twenties I took the risk of using dating apps, when it was still a new thing and pretty taboo among my peers. I took the risk of meeting people through these apps, people from different social and cultural backgrounds that allowed me to widen my perspective and knowing myself better. It eventually led me to my soulmate who I ended up marrying and been together for 11 years. After building a successful career for 13 years, I took the risk of quitting my six-figure job and, along with my husband, selling everything we owned to travel the world. It led me to a life-changing 15-month trip around the world. I took the risk of creating a coaching business to guide men and women into their most authentic and confident selves and I’ve served dozens of clients who have brought a wealth of experience and inspiration to my life. I took the risk of building an online community of childfree women by talking about my experience as a childfree women online, and it led to offering my coaching services to childfree women and it has become a beautiful community of like-minded women working on creating their most meaningful and sacred childfree lives. Every risk I’ve taken has felt scary at the beginning but each of them has taken me to a better place.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Wilmarie Hernandez. I am a Transformational Life Coach currently serving childfree women who want to feel confident and at peace with their childfree choice, but also want to create a life that honors the sacredness of their choice. Changing the perspective of being childfree as something that lacks, it’s shameful, or selfish to a choice that is something to be proud of and as natural and sacred as it is to have kids is the cornerstone of the work I do and why clients reach out to me. I have a professional background in communications, an M.B.A. in marketing and an international accreditation in coaching. What I love about what my experiences bring to the table for my clients is my perspective being a childfree career oriented woman and integrating coaching and spiritual practices as a path to continued personal growth, fulfilment and satisfaction. That’s what I feel the most proud of, creating inner and outer harmony in my life that allows me to connect with my womanhood as a childfree woman in such a deep level that I feel whole, complete and grounded in my truth with pride and peace of mind.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started building an online presence in 2018-2019 organically. Picking a niche and using my personal story and experience has been the main strategy to connect with the right audience interested in my services. The secret to growing an audience in social media, in my experience, has been to be specific, strategic and consistent for a long period of time. As a life coach people need to feel like they connect with you and they can trust you to hold space for them. Being consistent with my message, being present, and being authentic has been more important when building an audience. When it comes to growing an audience and selling services branding, marketing and sales strategies have been essential.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Hosting free or low-cost online events, workshops and masterclasses where potential clients get tons of value and get to interact with me has been the best source of new clients for me so far.
