We caught up with the brilliant and insightful WILLIE D DAVIS, IV a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, WILLIE D thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

The First time that I knew was when I found a gospel album with my mother’s picture on the cover with a group she was in. Seeing her motivated to want to be a creative individual.

At some point, she volunteered me at a young age to do the welcome speech at our church. At first I was nervous standing in the front of all those people. But once I got started and the “Amens” and “Go on, babies” from the congregation, I was forever hooked on doing something creative because the positive effect it had on others

WILLIE D, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

If not for my mother, I wouldn’t be the person that I am. She inadvertently introduced me to the entertainment industry and I’ve been there ever since enjoying the ride!

I started doing music to which I have 9 albums to date and 12 singles. The music opened me up to being an Author of 6 books and an Actor of stage and film. The latter of which earned me ATLANTA’S HOTTEST ACTOR. and ACTOR ON THE GRIND in 2021. I’m available for booking as an Artist, Actor or Motivational Speaker.

I’m also the host of my own podcast, The ICON Chronicles which is now in its 6 season. Anything and everything I’ve done is online on YOUTUBE, AMAZON PRIME, TUBI and more!

I think what sets me apart from anyone else is that I don’t let any of this go to my head. I work hard and stay dedicated and committed to what I do and to whom I do it for.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect is seeing how what you affects those around in a positive manner. With so much negativity, you have to be cognizant of what you put into the atmosphere because it WILL come back to you.

The whole process of creating from the start to the finish let’s others like you know that their goal can be achieved. No matter how hard it is or gets. True diligence will reward you everytime and seeing the impact of it will give you something that money can’t buy.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My main goal is to show up and comers, the next generation(s) that anything is possible if you set your mind to it and stick with it. Yes, there will be roadblocks, potholes and obstacles. These are merely tests to see if you truly want it as much as you said you did. A lot of people are talk and no action but YOU have to set YOUR mind to ” do what others won’t do to have the things you want to have” (Les Brown).
