We were lucky to catch up with William Pierre recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi William, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I grew up in a household where it was instilled into me that what ever I wanted to do in life, go out and achieve it. My mother and father always told me what ever you want to do always give it your all in a honest fashion. This statement has always stuck with me since I was a kid. In everything I ever done, Ive always tried to give it my all. Even with now with me owning my own artist management company. In the treacherous music industry that we work in, I made a personal vow to always lead with my all and always be FAIR and REAL with the people I encounter. Im a firm believer of what you put out will come full circle.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Yes, I own a company called Heart of a Lion Entertainment. What I focus on is managing musicians first and foremost. I also do offer coaching and development for up and coming independent artists. I believe in coaching artists the full scope of the industry not just what is pt right in front of you via media outlets. I love to work on the daily basis and build a professional friendship with the people I work with. Im a firm believer in we have to be able to vibe for us to work and succeed in this ever changing industry of music. Furthermore my “hands-on” approach and advising has propelled artists to finish their projects and have opportunities that the common independent artist wouldn’t have. You get back what you put out in this industry, I at end of the day if my guys I work with understand this there’s no plateau we cannot reach as a team. In addition, one problem that arises consistently is the how to continue the marathon. A good number of artists ask for help but don’t fully understand the nature of the business and understand what it means to be consistent. Artistry is not just music. I want people to recognize me and my brand as an entity where they can come and get real help and knowledge. I don’t sugar anything. If you want it, it can be achieved.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Learn the algorithm! I cannot stress this enough. Learning your profiles algorithm is the single most important thing someone can learn to improve their presence online. Also I would say get to know your audience and connect with those that are in the same industry as you and support their work because this will be reciprocated. Most your posts should also be driven towards your craft. Don’t post things that are irrelevant. Thats how you lose your audience’s interest. Lastly stay consistent as possible. I personally recommend posting at a minimum of once a week in whatever format.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
One of my goals, is to have a successful artist management company that has branches in all aspects of the music industry. Furthermore providing independent artists the fair chance and opportunities they need to take their careers to the next level. Having a team and a community of people who share the same views as I do and adequately understand the creative process for musicians and artists. Having a team that will remain honest and fair with each other no matter what situation arises. I feel like the music industry lacks these aspects and fail to provide true opportunities to those that deserve it.
