We were lucky to catch up with William LaVant recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, William thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
Would I say I’m truly happy as a “Creative” in what I do? Hmm, there are happy moments when you see what you’ve worked so hard for pay off eventually. It may not always exceed my expectations but some impact is better making no impact at all. To be honest, I actually did work regular jobs in my teen years but, once I seen that I can make more in a day’s work with what I do on my personal time than the amount I’d see on a regular check from the 9 to 5, i automatically knew the 9 to 5 scene is not for me. When you know that you have too many gifts to waste on a dead end 9 to 5 put more work into benefiting from your creativity. Am i saying quit your job? No! Not if you can’t afford to, but while you’re on that job, don’t lose focus on what you REALLY seen yourself doing as a child, that dream to make positive impact & the financial abundance will be returned to you.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I’ll always say my start & foundation of what I do is music, gospel music especially. My Grandfather (Pastor William LaVant Jr.) is the one that saw the potential in me to take on singing, was he a perfect man? No, but he knew REAL singing and music unlike most of the world today. I always say i never had a chance to be shy, he immediately broke that off me when he called me up in front of his Entire congregation to sing “This little light of mine”. Perfect example of: what you’re MEANT for in life will CALL you, literally and sometimes the World misses out on it. Singing & music is very powerful and it can heal but also hurt, use it wisely. From music it led to graphic design (WLGraphix) & creating my own Merch line “Edictwear”, and now I’m embarking upon building up my entertainment collective LIVTRIBE. It started as a name for my true supporters so now I’ve decided to make it an official brand name. In the end, I can say I’m most proud of not giving up on myself, seeing that I can do more on my own rather it just being handed to me, you have to see and want it for yourself first then be careful when people try to attach themselves to Your hard work. I can literally say God ALWAYS has my back!

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
As of right now at this moment, No Thanks!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
To leave a legacy for the next one or millions of individuals that will think or have the same heart & drive as me. A loyal caring heart, not a perfect heart. But to really see Right is Right & Wrong is wrong. Because these days it’s taught “Right is Wrong” and that’s false. Most importantly, don’t wait on nobody to give you the approval to go for your dream BUT make sure it’s really a dream / calling that is Yours & not someone else’s dream you’re trying to follow. Know your lane and thrive in it!
