We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful William Hairston Jr. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with William below.
William, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
After creating my company Black Visionz Media. I’m on a mission to make it as successful as much as possible and leave behind a business to my kids that is successful in which they can continue the legacy.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Before I crossed over to photography and videography. I worked as an actor in the Houston area which I started doing in 2011. I performed in two plays, worked as a background actor in several big budget films. After being on set and watching how things were done behind the scenes. I decided to try my hand at directing and producer films. I started investing my money in film equipment and writing screenplays. The problem I ran into with that was finding people to bring on the team that you can be trusted and depend on and I had difficulty in that area so I stepped away from it for a bit. Years later I decided to give it ago again but this time I was married with a family. My wife supported my endeavor 100%. We invested more money in gear and I have been increasing my knowledge of the photography and filming industry. I started Black Visionz Media in 2020. We do weddings, maternity shoots, modeling shoots, engagements, music video, short films, feature films, commercials, industrial, photography, video editing, and music production. What sets us apart from others is our pricing. We love what we do and we take pride in what we do.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding for me is hearing or seeing how excited individuals are when they receive the finish product. There is more a lot of work involved than just taken pictures or recording. There is editing. If your going to do the editing be prepared to be up all night. That process can be long and tiring. But there is a saying “if you love what you do you will never work a day in your life” which is a true statement. I don’t look at it as work. I look at it as an opportunity to share my talents and skills I was blessed with to the world. And with social media I can take one picture or post a short film and it can be seen by someone clear across the globe that I never knew existed and that is a reward in itself!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goals I set for myself is to not stop. To keep creating and capture spectacular pieces of art that may make it on a magazine cover or create a film that one day will be featured on the television or the big screen.
