We caught up with the brilliant and insightful William Almendarez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, William thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
My beginnings were simple – I always felt an attraction to tell a story via a lens. I started at a young age and honestly I stopped – it wasn’t until I moved here to Arizona that someone let me use their camera that I reconnected with that part of me. After that day, I went and started doing some research on equipment and there was a lot of trial and error – but what never changed was my idea and execution. I idea and concept has always been the same – to communicate without words a story, a moment in time and vision through my lens.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My message is seen and felt through my work. I tell stories – through my lens and make them join the journey and the adventure. I have said it before – an image speaks more than a thousand words and it does, that is why my mission remains clear: to capture moments that matter and build relationships that last. In a world where anyone can take a picture with their smartphone, professional photographers/videographers like me remain the torchbearers of true artistry and skill.
What sets me apart is – relationship and personalization. Locations are picked if not by the client – then with the client in mind. This creates a comfortable environment to create.
Photography is not just a hobby; it’s a way of life, a passion and commitment to storytelling through images. My bold and detail-oriented approach to photography sets me apart and my unwavering dedication to helping people embrace this craft ensures my journey will continue to be marked by success and fulfillment.
So, here I am, a photographer who started in 2007 and has since been painting the world with the strokes of my camera, one unforgettable moment at a time. Encapsulating a moment in time with a click – a life in an image-a picture that can transcend the ages without words.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Collaboration is a key factor – when you spend time with people you get to know them better-you form a connection that can later be conveyed. Each shoot is not a project for me it’s a relationship. Relationships grow and last and that’s why with most of my relationships we have worked more than once. Every project, shoot and encounter are not just a transaction but a relationship- part of what sets me apart is that each picture is my opportunity to tell their story through my lens.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I listen to the client – their vision – what is their goal and then I make it mine. Every project is different what sets my narrative style apart is the personalization I add to it. To be able to tell their story through my means of story telling – a lens. Exclusivity – where I pick and choose ‘projects’ – this gives me the ability to give more value to the customer. This enables me to spend more time with the customer, to better develop their concept from idea to reality – better locations, times and concept ideas. This way I am not consistently going from job to job and in a continuous hustle – I take time to create exclusive and meaningful content.
