We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Will & Vero Vaquerano a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Will & Vero , thanks for joining us today. One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
I met my wife and business partner Veronica. At the time I was a single dad of 2 amazing kids ultra focused on building back up my life and business. Recently separated I decided to stay focused only on my business and kids. I went all-in with my coaching and mentorship program, wrote my ideal life and wife and then one day out of nowhere Vero in the most unimaginable circumstances appeared at an open house. The rest is history!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Vero and I are now married, have a beautiful blended family of 5 and 2 awesome dogs. We are both full-time real estate and have built a real estate partnership with 129 amazing agents. We have learned and implemented systems and tools to build leverage in our business. We now help our agents and our clients achieve the same.
We have 6 properties and enjoying learning more about finances and achieving financially freedom. We LOVE to travel (we are in Colombia as I type this) and spending time with our family and tribe!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Vero had to leave her native country of Colombia at an early age and live on her own to survive. There were times she was living off of pasta to survive and found herself behind on rent. She lived the phrase fake until you make it in her design career, be willing to learn and take massive risks to climb her way out.
After 2008 when the mortgage meltdown happened, my mortgage career went from a super successful position to completely unemployed almost overnight. s a single dad, I found myself moving back with my dad with my 2 kids sleeping with my son on the bottom bed and my daughter on the top. For things to change, I had to change. Woke up at 3 am and in worked super late hours to learn real estate. I went all-in just like Veronica.

If you have multiple revenue streams in your business, would you mind opening up about what those streams are and how they fit together?
Yes, by promoting partnerships with other realtors and helping eXp realty grow, we make revenue share from their sales. It’s the 1st time a brokerage has shared back with realtors rather than keeping all the revenue themselves.
Vero and I were going to open up our own brokerage but when we saw that eXp realty and realtors both win, we took a leap of faith that others would see the same and it’s working!
