We were lucky to catch up with Will Rodriguez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Will thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

As with most people, Covid has a deep impact on my life. For me, it triggered a deep existential crisis that ended with a full-on mental breakdown and the ensuing search for answers.

Therapy became my best friend and I ended up focusing on myself for 8 solid weeks. During this time I had to take time off from my full time career as a TV Executive Producer, and throw myself into the challenging task of fixing all the things that I learned I hated about myself.

Part of my learning through this process ended up being a dive into metaphysics and spirituality.

I am not a religious person in the least, but I found myself being drawn to more esoteric and fundamental questions regarding who I was and why I was here.

So I embarked on a new creative project that explored these worlds, never expecting it to become anything more than just a hobby. I create a podcast called The Skeptic Metaphysician….because I desperately needed proof. I wanted to believe that these things were real…that we were more than just this 3D body we inhabit, but I equally didn’t want to be seen as naive or a fool.

As I threw myself deeper and deeper into these journeys of exploration, I found that more and more people we re resonating with my conversations. When I stumbled on a site filled with 5-star reviews of my show, I understood that I had stumbled onto something that was not only fun and rewarding for me….but also actually IMPORTANT!

Since then, the show has been picked up by 12 radio stations across the globe and one online streaming TV station and has become my career path of the future.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I feel like most of this was answered in the previous question but to define it further:

Our business is now one of spreading an important message. We don’t sell anything, we don’t force subscriptions on folks…we simply send out our show and gather as many listeners as possible…..then leverage those listeners for sponsorships. We also take small affiliate commission from some of our past guests, but we’ve found that the more we are of service to people, the less we need to worry about finances. We’ve learned to let go of the urgent need to “make money” and instead just KNOW that it will be there because what we’re doing is important and of value to so many. The Universe (sorry this is getting so far into the WOO WOO!) is aligning itself with our mission and helping us to move it forward.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My #1 goal is to align with my divine purpose and help get these messages out. Based on that, I am absolutely sure that the dollars I need to provide for my family will come, simply because of that alignment.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

My entire life, I’ve been programmed to think that the harder you work, the more successful you will be. And though that is true to a large degree, what everyone is neglecting to keep in mind is that when you align yourself with your true purpose, the hard work you put out there no longer becomes hard work!
