Hi  Will Power, thanks for joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

Hip Hop is my religion is named from my passion for Hip Hop and my love for the Renaissance art. My art style is a fusion of both. I combined a mixture of Graffiti, Street Art, and fine art. My subjects are usually Religious iconography in an urban settings. Once you see one of my painting you’ll understand why Hip Hop is my Religion is the best name for my company.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My focused for my business is not to make money. It’s to make an impact on the Culture. To break ground and be innovative you must chase the creativity and the Art. If you chased the money you will always stop at what makes money for you instead of improving your skill as an artist and the persuades of art excellence. My idea of success might be different from yours. Some of the most successful artists that I know died broke, but the impact that they leave the art world as their legacy still lives on today. For example Vincent Van Gogh.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Owning your own business and creating your brand you will never loose. Everything you add or take away from it will always grow your business. It’s always a win win situation. Stick with the plan. You will grow.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

I worked at a City job for 25 years, 40 hours 5 days a week. Now I worked every days doing what I love to do, which is Art, so I absolutely don’t work at all. Because it’s all fun. I have to unlearn that work does not have to be hard. No matter what, somehow the money always come right on time to pay your bills.
