Whitney, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
When starting a new business/venture, it is common to want your family and friends to support you. I have grown to understand that family and friends are not obligated to support me (if they do it is definitely a plus). There were times, I was discouraged when certain friends or family did not support me. I realized that when God gave me a vision, it was not meant for everyone to understand or support (and that is ok). Sometimes others will not understand or support your vision until they see the actual fruit that is harvested from your work. I am forever grateful to my friends, family, and loved ones that continuously support me.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have always had a love for fashion. The birth of my son was (and still is) the motivation I needed to help me walk in my purpose. In 2017, I launched an online boutique called Charis & Co (later renamed to The Whitney Victoria Collection in 2020). In the midst of having my online store, I began to create unique looks and blog about them. After I received inquiries about the looks, I knew I could have a career in wardrobe styling. I had a feeling that God would use my gift of styling to create divine opportunities. I am now a published celebrity wardrobe stylist. I specialize in branding, bridal, and editorial styling. My clients consist of luxury event planners, published models, radio/tv personnel, influencers, professionals, and more. Me staying true to who I am shows through my work. I create memorable experiences my clients and those that come in contact with me will never forget.
I am most proud of my diligence. I have faced hardship after hardship but with the grace of God, I prevailed. It wasn’t easy but I pushed through (with the help of my community). I want potential clients, followers, to know that I will continue to strive to empower, impact, and change lives one outfit at a time.
To all my family, friends, loved ones, followers, and etc Thank you for your continuous support. I am beyond grateful for each of you.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe creating memorable experiences helped build my reputation. I provide my clients with top tier service before, during, and after services are rendered. Word of mouth has definitely provided some amazing opportunities for me.
