We were lucky to catch up with Whitley Kels recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Whitley , thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope my legacy is to be an inspiration to anybody who took a leap of faith and creating a safe environment for others to be themselves. Exercising is a great outlet for anybody, and a great field to work in.
Whitley , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am from Philadelphia and took a leap of faith by quitting my job of 5 years in the corporate world to start my own business. I have a Master’s degree in Business. I decided to start a indoor cycling business because I was unhealthy and wanted to change my life around for the better. I am grateful I provided a safe space for other to join me on their weightloss journey.
What sets me apart is that I create themes for each cycling class I provide. I have helped several people lose weight, diabetes go aways, their mental state of mind is better. My classes are full of love.
I am proud that I took a leap of faith, because I created an environment for my community, and I pray it continues by everyone giving my business a chance to help change their life in a healthy positive way.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
My grandmother helped start up my business. She brought all of my bikes, she believed in me when I didnt have anything to show for it. I am grateful she did that for myself and the community.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I have learned is that everyone is cannot go with you. I am grateful I have went through a like of obstacles to learn people, it has made me a better business woman.
