We were lucky to catch up with Wesley Ulloa recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Wesley, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
Everything! My parents are my true guiding force. They always taught me to believe i. myself and my crazy ideas and allowed me to experiment all while teaching me how to calculate the risks I take as well. It is really hard for parents to instill a fearless can do attitude at the same time as one that will teach you to analyze the best path ahead but they truly helped shaped me through the good and bad of life. They also taught be perseverance. My family was very well off and had a tragedy occur but my family some how was able to ride the wave and get back up even when like knocks you down.

Wesley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I entered the real estate industry in 2007 amid the beginning of the great recession. I somehow was able to navigate the housing crisis and found myself doing a little bit of everything including foreclosures, short sales, development sales and working with regular home buyers, sellers and investors. I got presented an opportunity to open up a brokerage and I ran with it. The vision for the company was the change real estate. When I started in real estate I noticed there was a lack of standards across the real estate industry so I set out to raise the bar through education, technology, culture, support and most importantly doing the right thing. I am proud to say that our agents are some of the best you can find in South Florida and are extremely hard working diligent and above all truly care about their clients needs.
Any advice for managing a team?
A few things I think help with managing a team and morale – leading by example is the foundation. If you want others to follow you, you have to lead the way. Empathy is also very important in leadership and providing value to your team members. It needs to be reciprocal for all so the team can succeed together.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Business and life is always about pivoting. The only thing that is constant is change. Covid was a big pivot as we had to transition our entire business to online in a matter of weeks. We launched an accountability call with the team and an entire software for our team to stay in communication and get everything they need done while on the go. It has proven to be a great success for the entire team and not only help us navigate Covid but helped us grow in that same time too.
