We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Wesley Amorim. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Wesley below.
Wesley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
Being able to make a living through art is undeniably a privilege, and I won’t take it for granted. Art, in its various forms, constantly takes me to different places, both physically and emotionally, that I wouldn’t reach otherwise. Sometimes, it leads me to places where I can view the world from a perspective that combines past, present, and future times, and it’s truly magical.
However, I do face challenges in this line of work. There are times when I wish I had a “regular” job, especially when I need to rest my mind. Not having specific times to start and finish my creative thinking can make it difficult for me to just be without having to create.
The uncertainties of this career can be tough and emotionally painful, just like any other job. I measure the lows and highs of my craft. Sometimes, I want to change careers, but then I remember that I didn’t choose art; rather, art chose me. So, I happily continue to follow my calling in this world.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who may not be familiar with my background, allow me to introduce myself and share my journey into my field and the unique products and services I provide.
I come from a low-income background, and this has significantly shaped my perspective and journey. Growing up, I experienced life in places ranging from affluent to underprivileged, and this has afforded me a wide cultural insight and power.
My entry into the world of art and music began at a young age. Growing up in Sāo Paulo, Brazil, I was exposed to a rich cultural environment that sparked my interest in creativity. It was within the vibrant art scene of my community that I first discovered my passion for music.
Over the years, this passion has evolved into a thriving career. I offer a range of creative works, including music production, composition, performances, and more. My work is a fusion of various influences, drawing from my multicultural background and experiences.
One of the primary problems I aim to solve for my clients is the creation of unique and emotionally resonant content. I recognize that AI already has the technical capability to create “Art,” but what I offer is the ability to craft content that connects with our emotional truth.
What sets me apart from others is my commitment to authenticity and the ability to blend different cultural elements seamlessly. I strive to capture the essence of diverse influences in my creations, resulting in a distinctive and memorable style.
I take great pride in my journey, from busking in the subways of New York City to collaborating with renowned artists and establishing my own label, WA Media Solutions. This journey has been marked by growth, exploration, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Additionally, I’m deeply proud of my work as the Creative Music and Arts Director of the non-profit organization called Triumph Life Center. In this role, I produce and compose music that helps people find emotional healing, hope, and acceptance. It’s a mission close to my heart, and I’m honored to contribute to it.
What I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know about me is that I am deeply dedicated to my craft and passionate about creating art that resonates with people on a meaningful level. I invite them to explore my work, connect with my unique perspective, and join me on this artistic journey.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I first moved to New York City in 2014, I was a non-English speaker with a mere $500 saved, and an additional $185 gifted by some incredibly supportive friends and family who believed in my artistic aspirations. The city’s fast-paced and competitive environment was overwhelming, to say the least.
To support myself and pursue my passion for music and art, I decided to take to the subway and Central Park as a busker. It was a choice born out of both passion and necessity. I lived for many years in a small room in Newark, New Jersey, one of the most cost-effective options I could find, just so that I could continue creating art and not get sidetracked by another job that would pull me away from my artistic path.
This wasn’t an easy choice. Busking meant facing countless uncertainties – from unpredictable weather to uncertain income. I often performed in challenging conditions, but I was determined to make it work. The financial instability was tough, and there were moments when I questioned if I had made the right decision. I longed for the stability of a “regular” job.
However, I reminded myself that this was my passion, my calling. I had come from a low-income background and had faced adversity before. This was a different kind of challenge, but I drew upon my experiences and resilience to keep going.
Over time, I began to connect with people through my music, I started to build a following and create meaningful connections. My determination to overcome obstacles and my unwavering belief in my craft kept me going.
Through hard work, persistence, and a refusal to give up, I gradually made a name for myself in the industry, co-founding a band, collaborating with renowned artists, and establishing my own label. This journey has been a testament to my resilience, reminding me that challenges are opportunities in disguise.
This story underscores my belief in the power of resilience and determination, and how they can shape our path toward success, even in the face of adversity. It’s a lesson I carry with me every day, knowing that with dedication and unwavering commitment, I can overcome many obstacles that may come my way.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Throughout my life, I’ve seen how powerful art can be. It can connect people from different backgrounds, even if they speak different languages. Art can heal emotional pain, give hope, and help people understand each other better.
With this mission in mind, I create art that talks about things everyone feels, like love, strength, and discovering who you are. I want to make art that touches our hearts and makes us feel connected in a world that can sometimes feel divided.
I also work as the Creative Music and Arts Director at Triumph Life Center, where I make music that helps people who are going through tough times. This is part of my bigger mission to use art to bring positivity and healing.
But there’s something more I want to achieve. I believe that people from minority backgrounds have a unique power. Even though we face challenges that put us at a disadvantage, we have a special voice and skills that you can only learn from the school of life. I want to be part of a movement that helps underrepresented artists discover their power and achieve their goals, rather than simply following the paths that the systems they grew up in force upon them.
My main goal is to keep being creative and use my art to show voices and stories that might not be heard otherwise. I believe art can help us understand each other better, and I want to help others like me find their strength and uniqueness in this creative journey.
